Many thanks. I have been unable to find anyone in my area who is willing to work on LG ranges, so when my oven would not light, I was beginning to believe I would have to bite the bullet and buy a new range, then my wife found your video. I ordered the part, had it three days later and fixed the oven in less than an hour. You rock!

The modular connector can also be reached by pulling the warming drawer out and getting to it from underneath. For my oven there wasn't enough slack on the other end to pull the connector through the hole so I had to pull the drawer out and access it that way. Excellent video my friend, thank you!!!

Thank you so much for making this video! Such a simple fix that saved us so much time and money! I’m also amazed at how clean this oven is… 😂 One word of caution to anyone looking to replicate the steps in this video, my connector to my igniter fell back into the oven once I disconnected it. I had to fish it out with measuring tape which cost me more time than the rest of the job. So my advice is to PULL THE CONNECTOR OUT AS FAR AS YOU CAN AND SECURE IT before unclipping the old igniter. Thank you again for this video! Felt good to do the job myself. 😊

I will fix this myself, but I'm now remembering that I just did it 2 years ago! (for the tenant) and no one has used the oven that much, in that amount of time. I mean light use. Are these igniters cheap or something? I don't recall that the last one was an Electrolux (which tends to be a good brand) so I'll get one this time and hope that it'll carry me through more than 2 years, sheesh!

Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!! My LG oven (your exact one) has been doing the F11 error since I bought my house THREE YEARS AGO. . It would come and go and I could get past it by cycling bake on and off OR using the warming function to get the heat up. But this always wasted time and was becoming less reliable as a workaround. . I think the ignitor was just so old and weak that it couldn't always heat up FAST enough and it would trip the sensor saying there was a heating error. Like the oven would just give up and say, "Nope it took too long" sort of a fail-safe so it wouldn't fail to ignite gas maybe? . Anyway I got the ignitor for cheaper than a new temp sensor so I replaced it first and the ignitor WAS the issue. Took all of 30 minutes maybe. . Can't thank you enough for your video!!! (Just wish I would've found it sooner!) . Best wishes

The only thing I would say is, cushion the igniter while stripping the wires. You must be so careful not to bump the new igniter due to them being so fragile or you'll be replacing them again sooner rather than later.

From seeing the video and comments below the video, we felt that our F11 code LG oven error was most likely the ignitor. Another sign that we were seeing that others have not commented on yet, was that our oven was igniting more quickly if the stove top burners were also operating. We were able to “limp along” with F11 errors for about 6 months, but they were becoming more frequent. My husband has some experience repairing old clothes washers and dryers, but no experience with oven repairs. But we watched the video and felt it was a job that he could take on. After completing this job, we have the following comments to pass on: --The toughest part of the job for him, was removing the oven door. We have lived in several other houses over the years, and had not had an LG brand oven before. This oven door was different than doors we have removed in the past. So just re-watch that part of the video, take a deep breath, and know that you will figure out how to get the oven door off. --We used the circuit breaker box to de-power the oven, so that we did not have to pull out the oven to unplug it from the wall. --We did not have a screwdriver with a 90 deg. bend attachment as was shown in the video. My husband ended up using a screwdriver or a socket with an extension for all of the various screws. He took his time and ended up being able to get all of the screws loose. -- We bought the ignitor recommended in the video link. However, our ignitor only had one ceramic wire connector in the box, and not two connectors. Unfortunately, we realized this after the return window was over for the part. We ended up being able to purchase another ceramic wire connector at a local store. However, we strongly encourage people to inspect the box for the wire connectors when you first get the part. We saw in some of the other comments that at least 2 others also did not get two ceramic wire connectors in their boxes. --Luckily our ignitor wires were like in the video, they moved freely and we were able to pull the wires and get to the plastic connector to disconnect the LG part. We had plenty of slack to get the new part connected with the ceramic wire connectors and then put everything back behind the firewall as was shown in the video. We have now used our oven with new ignitor about 15 times now. Wow, it ignites so quickly! I think with this model LG oven the ignitor performance slowly gets worse over time, and eventually the F11 errors start. We bought this house 4 years ago and I have always thought that this oven took a long time to heat up compared to our gas oven in our previous home. Now the heat time is about the same as our gas oven in the previous home. Thank you to the creator of this video for helping us fix this problem!

After watching your video, I decided to tackle this repair on my own. Thank you for saving me the money and time from having to have a technician come out. I did run into a couple of issues. Getting to the screws that hold the ignition switch was difficult. I had to buy a 90 degree manual screwdriver. After struggling with the first screw, I decided to try a socket wrench, which went a little easier. It is such a tight space though, very frustrating. My second issue was pulling the ignitor cord out. I could not get it to come up out of the hole like your video shows. It must have been caught on something underneath. So I just spliced it onto the new switch in the oven, versus unplugging the connector and doing it in more light with more room. I was nervous about buying the Electrolux part, as some reviews on Amazon said it wasn't compatible with LG. So I did spend $10.00 more to get the LG compatible part. Other than that, it went great, and we can cook again! Thank you!!

Hey Scott ... is there a way in which I can determine if my F11 issue is due to the igniter or oven sensor? And do you have a video on replacing the oven sensor? Thank you for this video by the way!
@erikkornfeld7853 жыл бұрын
I am not a pro buy I figured it was the ignitor for mine because I smelled gas and felt no heat from the oven. If the ignitor turns on and lights the gas but the sensor just doesn't work than I figure it would act like an oven for 5 minutes until the control panel shuts it down for safety. If anyone sees any issues with my logic please feel free to comment. Also, it could be the control panel too... But I have no idea how to determine that one except replacing everything else.

Thank you Scott, I am not sure if it is my igniter as when I try and heat my oven I get a slight temp rise and after 10……to 15 try’s it works. Could it be that the igniter is heating but not hot enough to trigger the the gas safety or could it be something with the safety by itself?

I have this oven (lg branding LRG3095ST) and am struggling to figure out an intermittent f11 no heat error that sometimes occurs while the oven is running OR sometimes occurs if you try to restart the oven if it is hot from a previous use OR very infrequently will fault at cold start. Both igniters test properly for resistance and draw, the gas safety valve test properly, temperature sensor tests properly for the ambient temp at time of test, the onboard diagnostic function appears to tests correctly, and the control board has no visible damage under 10X magnification. I'm not a service tech, but am fairly handy, however I'm at a loss on where to go from here. is there any advice on next steps?

My LG gas range just stopped working. BOTH the oven and the top burners - at the same time. There is power to the range because the clock, etc. work. The igniter in the oven glows when the range is turned on, so there is power to the oven. But the top burners do not make the "clicking" sound when turned on (but gas DOES come out). So I see solutions online for EITHER the oven or the top burners not working, but what could be the problem if BOTH are not working? Thank you!

You’re doing really good. You’ve done everything correctly but sometimes there is a third thing that Hass to be replaced and that’s called the relay board. It’s pretty easy to do and you can find it by checking your model number in a Google search along with the word relay board.

I found the culprit. We had mice a few years back and one of the wires was completely cut and both in bad shape of the female plug. Surprised igniter worked at all.
