Thank you for showing the process from start to finish and for explaining as you went along. I’m a leftie and I’m having a terrible time finding tutorials I can follow without being frustrated. Even the simplest of stitches has stumped me and this one was so easy!

Oh I'm so glad you found this helpful!! Being right-handed myself (but with a left-handed sibling along with other family members) I always think about how difficult it must be to learn a new technique but with the opposite hand from what is being shown!

Try turning the directions upside down. This will give you a “mirror” image. I’m a lefty also and this works for me.

Great video! I like that you are describing what you are doing and not having just music in the background.

FINALLY! This has to be about the 10th video I’ve watched on how to make a cut tacked loop, turkey rug knot, turkey work, turkey stitch, fringe stitch-whatever you want to call it, but no one has a really good, easily understood video until I came across this one. Thank you Lolli and Grace! I’m very appreciative. (Now I can finish my project!) ;-)

Love how you used it for the flower! Definitely keeping that in mind. I've used turkey work stitches before but this was a good refresher

I just discovered the "turkey stitch" today so I'm very happy for your excellent tutorial video. Thank you for showing how to make the resulting motif fuller and also for the circular design. Lovely work! (I like that your nail polish matches the thread, too!)

good video. I watch a lot of videos and you have beautiful hands/nails. Some videos I cannot watch because of dirty finger nails, etc. Your explanations are good with out all the unnecessary chit chat. Your presentation is very professional and well done.

I had such a hard time trying to find the modern term for this stitch! I just started learning and received a bunch of kits from the 70’s. In all the instructions, they call this the “cut stitch”. That’s a long way to “turkey work”😂 Thanks for the great tutorial😊

That's so interesting! I guess "cut stitch" makes sense because you "cut" it, but yeah, I never would have thought to call it that, LOL. I'm so glad this was helpful for you!

You really made this so simple, every other explanation I've seen has been confusing. Also I'm not sure if the nail polish matching the thread was on purpose but I love it either way

how do you make yours look all frilly? mine always stay clumbed up
@LolliandGrace
@LolliandGrace 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joannie - you kind of have to tease the threads to look the way you want them to look. So if yours are staying clumpy, keep separating them with your needle a little bit. Also, how are you separating your strands of thread? If you're not stripping them to separate them, they will stay in little ropes instead of being lots of separate strands. (I just uploaded a video for how to strip threads, by the way.)

The captions that appear during the video are a setting that you control. You apparently have them turned on, but you can turn them off by hovering your cursor over the video and clicking on the box that says "CC."
