I seem to recall he also called her "Gretchen" once. Nearly made me fall out of the couch. 🤣🤣🤣 Astrid is such a lovably character. She was a side character but ended up being everyone's favorite. I forget which, but at one ComiCon the entire cast was in a Q&A panel, and almost every question was for Jasika Nicole, instead of the 3 main cast.

'Astro' is my favorite. Wasn't that the name of the dog on the cartoon, 'The Jetsons?' Also, 'Afro' is a good one as Astrid has a afro hairstyle. Eventually, Astrid just gave up saying anything to Walter when he said her name wrong. She would only bring it up if he actually got it right, which I believe didn't happen till the finale. 'Ostrich' was a funny one, too!

Having watched this show a few times now there is no doubt he knew her name after a few times. He tends to forget names the first time as is often shown. But he had no trouble with for example Olivia or Broyles after meeting them a few times. And Astrid is with him every day in his lab. The thing i did notice is that when his mind is preoccupied with discovery or something exiting the name also is forgotten probably due to his altered brain. He uses nicknames to egg her on or joke. He often uses Astrid when he needs something. My dear out of care because he is fond of her or to tell her something to learn. Agent Farnsworth when he is either serious,dissapointed or his more alter ego mad.

Without taking away from whatever personal feelings she may have had about the whole name thing, I don't think she appreciates how much more of an impact it gave her and Walter's relationships on the times he DID get it right. The episode where she's attacked in the lab and Walter walks in and uses her correct name when he sees she's been hurt it really made the scene much more powerful.

You know that the actress's name is Jasika and nof Astrid, right? Anyone who watched the show is in on the joke, multiple names are not a sign of disrespect, Walter's and Astrid's caring relationship is affirmed and validated many times over the series. I've never come across Ms Nicole's criticism of the whole thing but if she did comment on it in a negative way, she's a fool. No fan with a working brain would take Aspirin as a putdown.
