I have sold all my old Nikongear. Anything but the Nikkor AF-S 200 f2 VR. This is a really superb lens and up to now I use it with the Fringer adapter :-)

Glad to hear it worked. I am looking to do the same but with a Nikon 600mm f/4 as there is no Fuji equivalent. How did you feel the AF was working in terms of speed and accuracy?

Could tell me if the TAMRON 18-270 mm f 3,5- 6,3 DI II VC PZD cab adapt autofocus for FUJIFILM XT4. THANKS
@uncertainrelease Жыл бұрын
the Tamron 18-300 and 18-400 appear on Fringer's compatibility list, but the 18-270 does not

Will this work with the X-PRO1? I currently own a Nikon D7100 and XPRO1 and have two lenses for my Nikon and one for my Fuji, debating whether I should invest on a prime lens (35mm f2) or get the adapter, the lenses I have for my Nikon is the 18-105 AFS and 50 AFD
@uncertainrelease7 ай бұрын
according to fringer's website it will but they don't put any guarantees about teh performance of the adapter itself. Not like the X-Pro1 is a speed demon anyway.

Interesting review, to me native glass seems the best option. Recently I was thinking about a Fuji macro lens, up till now I'd been using the MCEX macro tubes with zoom lenses. Given the price of the Fuji macro lens options I decided instead to buy a used Nikkor Micro105mm f2.8 VR and D700 body. This worked out cheaper than the equivalent Fuji lens. Also, the D700 I bought was much cheaper than that Fringer adaptor.

Yes native glass is always going to be the best option (or at least, within the same brand with the same autofocus protocols). I have a D700 too (as long as a lot of Nikon F mount lenses) and I couldn't keep two full separate systems of lenses, I was really hoping for this NF-FX to provide a decently good autofocus experience but... you saw the video. I switched to Nikon Z + FTZ and I left behind the slow F mount autofocus (kept the X-T2 though, and 2 lenses)

Same, I am using these two systems at the moment but the Fringer adaptor is nearly 600 Australian dollars which is too expensive.

If I wasn't able to get one for much cheaper used, I don't think I would have ever even considered it. Their pricing doesn't make much sense to me.

same here till I finally got one from China on sale at 1900rmb that is about 450aud, still not cheap but I won’t have to buy that 70-300 now

I'm Nikon user very long times but recently I bought gfx 100 second hands , it was very clean shutter count low price cast to me nearly 4000$ with vat . Buy the way I was searching for a a lot of adapter but most of the person said fringer is best one even very much expensive. So if buy fringer with vat gone cast more than 600$ to me . Honestly I have no idea is it really working Nikon lenses to gfx ? Thank you for your video it was useful ❤

Nikon lenses will work for the most pqrt, although very few of them cqn qctuqlly cover a medium format sensor. The GFX system isn't tailored to action the same way the X system is, you should have not too much problems with autofocus. I would still either get manual medium format film glass, or directly GFX lenses for that camera though, except if you have on hand the few lenses that have the ability to mostly cover a medium format sensor (there isn't much and I don't have the list at the top of my head right now)

In my experience the frigger adapter that is 100% worth it on Fuji. It's the only AF adapter I tried that has decent AF performance albeit I have the canon version.
@uncertainrelease Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Canon lenses are generally a little bit more modern, and it doesn't require a motor inside the adapter to move the aperture blades. So it kinda makes sense

Can't believe Noone mentioned this but you need to do something about the focusing issue. I find it hard to focus on hearing you while watching the video.

actually everybody mentionned this lol, on every video that had focusing issues. This has obviously been fixed

Hey there, I love the style of video you do, but I would like to point out something. Your voice is too low. I have to turn my volume up to max in order to hear you, which is normally not a problem, but it can be when I'm trying to watch a video anywhere outside my bedroom. Please raise the audio level in your videos. I would say about 10-20% should be fine.
@uncertainrelease Жыл бұрын
I would love to ! sadly the pre-amps are not too optimized for the microphone I'm using, and if I raise the internal gain of the microphone level (in camera through the preamps or during editing later) I'm getting pretty annoying white noise and "hissing" (I'm currently testing several mic configurations to fix this issue...). I think if you go watch the video about the X-T2 you can definitely hear it in the whole first part of the video. Needless to say that I'm quite annoyed by this, cause this is not the first time I'm seeing comments like yours, yet I don't seem to find a good solution for it. It's also quite difficult to pick up on this while editing, I'm genereally using studio headphones that are pretty loud and aren't always giving me the impression the sound is too low 😓

I see little point moaning about the price, gfx lenses are even more expensive so its a good alternative
@uncertainreleaseАй бұрын
Um... this isn't a GFX camera? And sorry to expect something this expensive to *work* at all with every lens listed on the compatibility list.
@MrPetebuster1Ай бұрын
@@uncertainreleaseI stand corrected. That makes it even more pointless, both have plenty of good value native lenses so why even bother with adapting.? sell some your gear and get a decent native lens instead
@uncertainreleaseАй бұрын
@@MrPetebuster1 Because you don't see the value in it doesn't mean nobody does. At the time of making this video, I was shooting with both Nikon DSLRs and Fujifilm mirrorless, an adapter like this would have allowed to use a single set of lenses for both systems, saving a ton of money considering Fujifilm X mount lenses are much more expensive than Nikon F mount equivalents. Everything is said in the video, did you watch it?? It was also made pretty clear it was for X mount and not GFX in the first minute of the video itself...
@MrPetebuster1Ай бұрын
@uncertainrelease well I did address my mistake in the previous comment. Didn't you read it? When you buy into fuji nikon or whatever you're buying into a system . Running two systems and then looking for an adapter to use one set of lenses is a rather strange way of doing things. Especially as no adapter will work as well as native lenses. Each to their own, but you'd better off running one system. Don't get me wrong, adapters are useful but not as an alternative . Just stick to an affordable system
@uncertainreleaseАй бұрын
@@MrPetebuster1 Is it me or you're trying to tell me what I should do with my money? You say it's a strange way of doing things, but there's entire companies that are built on that very principle (fringer, metabones, urth, to name a few) If I want to have 1, 2 or 12 camera systems, that's my concern. Not yours. In any case, that doesn't prevent me from testing things that are making bridges between systems. You;re clearly not the target demographic of those things, I don't know why you even bothered commenting on this video.

This video is way too long

... then don't watch it? What am I supposed to say? The duration is indicated on the bottom right of the miniature before you even click on it. If you find that too long, don't click on it period. There's plenty of other, shorter reviews I'm sure.
