I got married earlier this year and I got a bit addicted to your makeup tutorials as I practised putting on makeup for the big day. They were great, and helped me be confident to do my own makeup. But guess what? I got pregnant within the first week of being married! I'm 16 weeks along. It has been so nice to now be able to watch your pregnancy updates and learn from them too :)

i totally understand what its like being an adult with acne, and in particular hyperpigmentation (although im not preg i just have had this issue with dermatillomania (compulsive skin picking). From the nape of my neck, all the way down my spine is covered in hyperpigmentation and scarring, and even my chest, face and arms. Its significantly better at this point than a few years ago, but im still left with 10 years worth of scarring. I totally get that feeling of being "past" the normal age of having acne, and the huge limitations on clothing. All the best for everything, and you are totally not alone!

RN here - Love your vlogs about your pregnancy, and don't worry, everything you're experiencing is normal. Due to your pregnancy, your hormones and vascularity is all over the place - so acne, shortness of breath and being swollen is normal!

I also had hormonal acne during my pregnancy. Now, I'm nursing my baby, and I feel my back-ne is worst. I keep telling myself that this is a "joyful" issue. Before you know it, the acne will be gone and the baby will be all grownup. Time really flies once you're a parent! :)

Oh Jen! You glow from the inside out. I'm far from being pregnant, but I do want to tell you not to worry about the acne! I'm sure it'll clear up soon. And you are still so beautiful- acne can't bring you down! Thanks again for sharing your journey with us❤️

Hi Jen! Don't worry! I experience the same thing! I do not fit to majority of my pants anymore. I am experiencing the acne too. They're all around my chest area, my back, my back, my belly and even on my lower back and some spots on the thighs. It is weird and it has taken down my confidence so much. I could not wear low back shirts and dresses. Whenever some spots are peaking through my tops, I feel so embarrassed. But I'm still hoping it gets better soon. Wishing you a healthy and a more comfortable pregnancy! :)

My baby girl is about to be 3 months old. I got hormonal acne on my chin and back late second trimester and all through the third trimester and I still have it, although it's getting slightly better. You're not on your own with that one. I felt really self conscious about it too but it's so worth it. I can't wait for you to hold her for the first time!

You look amazing, I really love your pregnancy vlogs! I've had acne since I was a teenager, but it got better a while ago. Now that I'm 16 weeks pregnant, I'm having it again (though it's still better than before) but also on my belly. My back is the most affected part, so I know how you feel.
@katycurran1288 жыл бұрын
You are the most adorable pregnant woman! Seriously, so cute! After the baby arrives, try and make monthly appointments to get back facials done. I think they would help out alot. I'm pregnant myself (8 weeks today actually!), and I've noticed my skin breaking out more than it used to. I'm already prone to body acne, so my back looks like it usually does, for now at least

Jen, I love following your preggy vlogs! I'm due right around the same time as you so it's nice to watch and hear the similar and different symptoms you are feeling. my baby boy is super active and strong too, and i haven't needed to count kicks for that reason. i also have sensitive skin.. i don't have acne on my belly, but i have PUPPS (pregnancy skin rash) which gets better with cream, but it's still sensitive.

I also had bad back and chest acne during pregnancy. I am 10 days postpartum now and it has cleared up a lot. It started clearing up towards the end of the pregnancy for me. The hemorrhoids, unfortunately, only get worse ... when you deliver they will be worse, and then they should go down in the recovery weeks :(. Pelvic pressure/pain will also likely linger until baby is born, especially when her head moves down onto your cervix.

I struggle with chest and backne too, and I've had it for about three years now. it's definitely embarrassing because my whole back is scarred, especially for events like prom where I have an open backed dress. you're totally not alone on that!!

Hi Jen... this week I have also reached 28 weeks and I totally get that "alien" movement that's happening in my tummy. I've gained (probably) about 8 kgs since I got pregnant and I'm literally ONLY carrying the baby weight. Which means, every time I take a bath or a shower and I'm checking myself out, I AM HUGE. Just make sure you're walking or exercising regularly (20-30 minutes or so a day) so that will help with the flexibility/stretching of your legs and circulation. You can also put your feet up on a box or a foot stool when you're editing so that your legs aren't pooling of all the blood. As for hemorrhoids, eating an apple REALLY does help and try to consume a yogurt fruit smoothy (blend it) every two days if you don't like the fiber powders (metamucil) due to their grainy tastes. I find that definitely helps with the movement of YOUR body BEYOND the baby. WIsh me luck on my gestational diabetes test (I go take it on Thursday) -- apparently having too much carbs (ie. rice) is also bad. :( Great post and take it easy!!

Jen you should try using Dove bar soap to help with the acne. Keep in mind that everything you knew about your body pretty much will change. This includes products that worked for you before you may be allergic too now. Also the cetaphil bar soaps work well.

I had bacne and neckne during my second pregnancy, and I never, ever had bad acne in my entire life.. but after I had my emergency c-section, after around 2 weeks or so the acne disappear. so don't worry about the acne. oo, and elevate your legs every time you rest at home. it helps the circulation , wear comfy clothes and underwear when your're out and about.. enjoy your pregnancy.. xoxoxo

Hi Jen ! About the over-pigmentation you are experiencing now, I can advice you to try the Bi-Oil. It removed all of the spots I had, and even the ones that were a few years old. I asked my man to apply it on my back every night and they are almost gone within 2 months ! ;) I wish you the best !

We are due around exactly the same time (my due date is July 7) and both with a girl. I swear that my pregnancy has been exactly the same as yours. You think you're in the clear when you get to the third trimester, but it's just a whole new wave of symptoms and speaking of Bacne...mine is so terrible. You're definitely not the only one suffering through it. Now I'm not breaking out, but the spots are still there. We're almost to the finish line, though!

Hi gorgeous! I'm 28 weeks and I have some light acne on my tummy too! I don't think that it helps with slathering so much stretch mark butter on the tummy, but I'd much rather have acne then stretch marks! So sorry that you feel self conscious about your back! I have big boobs and I'm definitely self conscious about them cause everyone says how big they are now lol. We gotta do what we gotta do though, and it's pretty amazing what our bodies go through for a baby. Stay positive girl! You are so gorgeous inside and out💕🤗😘💋

Yesterday I wore a tank top to the pool because I was too self conscious to show my chest :/ You're right when you say it really affects you. I just feel so ugly showing my chest when it breaks out. I hope it's just a phase and that it'll eventually go away...

Have you tried tea tree oil for your bacne? It's natural and dries up the acne. Check with your doctor to see if it's ok during pregnancy. Other things that work to dry acne: vicks vaporub and desitin diaper rash cream. Again, check with doc if it's ok during pregnancy, of course.
