Old MMO communities used to be like that. You would see the same people regularly enough that you actually had a reputation that followed you and people remembered who was fun to play with and who to avoid. I'm nowhere near the top of the ladder in OW, but I've heard Flats say something similar about how everyone knows everyone.

A lot of them have been playing in eachothers lobbys for the last 7 years. Especially as of late since no one really plays anymore so it's hard to find different people at high elo. Also most ow creators are chill af lol.
