I got my first 1000 subscribers from one KZbin shorts. I was only 7 months in on KZbin and that shorts only got over 300 thousand views. I was monetized within one year of starting my channel. You are right shorts brings in more subscribers. I only do shorts that are related to my niche.

I managed to get 4000 hours in about 6 months and 1,000 subs in 13 months. It's been a struggle because KZbin seems to give and take subscribers. Each day I gain subscribers and each day I loose subscribers. My numbers are constantly added and subtracted. If I go up 5 subs an hour later it will go down 3.

A warning to people that use shorts... 1. They do grow way faster than normal videos but the subs you get from normal videos actually see all your content (Community Post, Lives, Shorts, Merch and Vidoes)... subs from shorts literally see nothing from your channel so basically they are like empty subs 2. Shorts are random... i had shorts that i posted and got 10k views and i reposted it and it got 900k... nothing changed from the short. Its very random. I'm not just talking from nothing I've gained 100k subs thur shorts and 60k thur normal videos... in my discord i asked ppl who subbed from both shorts and long videos and almost all my subs that subbed from shorts say they literally didn't see no content from me after they subbed... only if they watch shorts again. But my subs from normal videos see both. I love shorts and post everyday bit i aim more for subs from normal videos cus they are way more active and loyal

Interesting point. I was sort of thinking the same, but have almost 0 experience with shorts and didn’t want to assume. My shorts suck. I can barely get 3 to 5 views… I know, pathetic! 😂 I’ve got ways to go.

I found the same thing happened to me, I had about 100 subscribers and then started posting shorts, But I saw that my long form videos suffered because YT is only recommending my shorts instead of the longer videos, and if you want to monetize and get more loyal subscribers genuinely interested in your content, shorts will damage your end goal. It’s really frustrating because I was building a community and they disappeared, I have 970 subscribers mostly from shorts and I love making shorts and they’re easy to make but I haven’t posted them in a while in an effort to gain some good subscribers back into my channel… I’m not into vanity metrics, I really wanted to make a living out of this but my engagement sucks… good luck everyone!! @@ZussieMakesit yeah, its annoying... it literally kills your channel... look up Jake Fellman... he got 14 million subs with shorts and can't even get 20k views on normal videos... its crazy... any normal channel with 14million subs gets 2-5million views easily a video

Jake Fellman is the example i seen recently he cnt even get 20k views but has 14million subs off shorts... bearly any comments or anything. Even my channel can get more views on normal videos
