Definitely fallen out of love with it. I deffo fell in the trap when i posted a few videos that went viral, but that's given me "ghost followers" they never engage with anything i post. Or well , maybe I'm not that interesting (also an option😅)

I really appreciate how instead of sharing your lessons like a guru (like “you should do this, do that”), you instead shared your own realizations and plans - which makes them authentic because it’s coming from an honest place and personal experience! I love that ❤ Thank you for sharing! I’ve always wondered if it’s even worth it to share our business lessons because it would attract the wrong kind of people, and might not even turn into sales (because that’s the whole point of running a business anyway). I don’t know if you have talked about this, but if it’s okay to hear your take on this, I’d appreciate it!

It also happend when Instagram changed the way they show your timeline. There is moments you get more suggestions for New content creator than Posts of the one you allready follow.

Thank you for sharing your tips 🥰 I’ve been on Instagram since 2020 with my pet portraits but growing is still a struggle; I see my peers growing hugely in small amount of time and I don’t think it is about my art.. certainly I’m doing something wrong, or let’s say I could do much better. Love these chatty videos 💕

I used to love Instagram when it was photos only and to an extent the stories - but unfortunately between the pushing of reels and timeline change, my interest completely nosedived. Combining that with putting my business on hold for two years, also didn't help. I do want to finally get back to it, so looking into the achievements and not caring quite as much as putting out polished images all of the time will be a great help. Thank you for your insights!!

i have really fallen out of love with instagram over the past few years, it seems to be about people watching stories than engaging on posts. however i always post for joy and try not to think too much about perfection! your growth journey is very inspiring and you should be so proud of what you have created. amazing!!

I HATE that I don't see photographs on Instagram anymore. Everything is reels. And the feed is loaded with people I don't even follow. They need to implement a subscriber section so you can exclusively see the accounts you follow. Also, if they were to provide a mixture of photos and reels to the feed, or a division with a photo and reel tab it would improve the usability of the app. And I say that as an artist that posts both photos and reels so I don't hate the reels, I just hate that that's all we see now.
@oyuink2 ай бұрын
Instagram already has a feature where you can exlusively see just your followers posts. If you go to your home and click the “Instagram” at the top it’ll show a drop down “following, favourites” it is annoying that when you reopen the app it goes back to the normal feed rather than keep to the following page! 🩵
@saintnikz2 ай бұрын
They actually do have a "Following" option for your feed. On the main feed, in the top left where it says "Instagram," tap on that and it should bring up two options: Following and Favorites. If you tap on Following, it will give you a chronological feed of only people you follow. I know at first not everyone had this option but I think a lot more do now so you may want to give it a try!
@mlyon14762 ай бұрын
@@saintnikz Well thank you for that! I've selected every aspect of the app at some point but not the name! I appreciate the main feed for discovering new accounts but missing out on the ones I'm actually following is no bueno.

Uhg, same! There are so many times I want to see some photos of an artist's artwork and I cannot find anything recent at all. It's all process or reels for entertainment, or recent "trend" audio videos. I just wanted to see a photo of your art! Sigh...

I've been trying my hardest to get more into my socials, but it's always so difficult to find that 'groove' or to feel that what I'm doing is making my audience and/or those who enjoy what I do happy and feeling good. I really need to get way better about it, and that can actually go for many things, not just socials. I have been finding rather similar thoughts of 'oh, but it has to be perfect!' as a big issue as to why posting tends to be very silent, but I also just sometimes want to see stills and photos and not moving wee videos constantly. I like knowing that I can see a video of what's being made (I have the 30 second Procreate videos that I utilize, which is lovely) but there are times where just getting a still and seeing up-close details of what was worked on gives me a great hit to the happy zone of my brain. I miss those. Thank you for sharing your journey with your socials and art posting. It really does help, and I know that there are others out there who feel similarly for sure! Heck, I'm one of them.

I’ve been wanting to step away from Instagram because I’m bombarded with ads. I follow Vanessa Lau and when she left the internet- her KZbin continued to grow and make money while her Instagram totally died. My thought is that we should be careful/selective where we put our energy- especially as our business grows.

I'm not a content creator (any more) but as a consumer I have a small amount of insight. In the most polite way possible, Instagram (well, any and all content) like most things, goes through trends. Currently, hyper realistic and less 'cutesy' is what seems to be capturing people's attention. Like most trends, there is still interest for things that aren't 'in fashion' so you should always stick to your own authentic style of sketches and not just follow the trends. Also, the trend cycle is exactly that, a cycle, things usually always come back around and then when they do you'll be ahead of the curve haha.

Hello lovely, for me the same feeling, my case more modest way of course, but I dont feel confortable in IG and I am more focus in KZbin, I feel like this is my place to share and connect with others that likes what I love to do crafting for parties. it wouldnt surprise me if the followers you lost were just people deactivating and deleting their instagram accounts. instagram went downhill over the years sadly. i've always been behind the curve with social media, i only just started my art instagram recently because i was always a tumblr girl years ago.

I think what people do not understand wheb they lose followers....or have followers but not many comments or likes and shares is people get bored and move on or they subscribe and follow soooo many people that alot yet left to the back of the line to never get picked up again. Its same on youtube when you subscribed to sooo many people that when they all get updates dinfs to new videos or notifications alot are way down the list where alot of people don't scroll down all the list and so views get less and less sometimes. There are loads on KZbin where they have millions of subscribers....but when you check video views its like 10k, even 30k....plus....but thats actually bad yo say they gave millions of subscribers. ...lets face it you can have millions of followers or subscribe but if you only get say 10k views on videos....thats not good when you have millions of followers. People find new people to follow and new artists and products and move on....its just the way of the world....always has been and always will be. You will have ups and down periods. And bounce back and this will continue for years to come as its natural thing to happen

I was looking forward to this video since you mentioned you'd make it on the last vlog! Instagram has been a big question mark to me lately because I made a hard rule for myself that I am not to use highly addictive feed apps on my phone anymore. So that raises the question, how exactly do you make content for a platform you don't allow yourself to consume anymore? LOL. I'm hoping to find that creating the content in itself is easier when you're not getting lost in it yourself, because 10 out of 10 times I told myself I'd be doing "research" in the past when I actively used Instagram ended up in me waking up from the dopamine-drunken stupor of scrolling 2 hours later with nothing to show for. I'm calling this strategy the "Gus Fring of social media" LMAO. I actually do enjoy creating the content much more than consuming it, tho, so that will definitely be an interesting experiment to see if one can actually grow some while being slightly on your own lane.
