Great Video! The service definitely takes the heavy lifting out of setting up the campaigns. Was wondering if the platform has email / Sms capability or do those things have to sourced separately?? Thanks again.

How much was the daily spend for this 28 day campaign?
@GiovanniBottan

It did fluctuate a lot, but I can give you a more specific example as my own band used the same exact strategy (Slowchamber) and achieved great results too and depending on the release schedule, we are spending anywhere between five and $20 per day. I believe I talked about it in my previous video, but I can also make another one specifically on that. Keep in mind that the most important thing is not having a huge budget, even though it obviously helps, but to stay as much consistent as possible, even if it means spending just $5 per day. I hope it helps!

@@GiovanniBottan What was the total spend? this video is almost entirely useless without knowing how much was spent. $150 for 16k monthly listeners is great but, $600 for 16k monthly listeners is silly. Would love a response, cheers.

@@oopsySeason I personally don't agree. What many artists fail to understand is that when running ads (and with marketing in general), the goal is not just to increase monthly listeners, but to grow a fanbase in various aspects such as the email list, Instagram followers, Spotify streams, and listeners, all at the same time. Third-party playlisting has conditioned many artists to think that $100 equals whatever number of streams they have in mind. I strongly disagree with this view. To put it into perspective, if you spent $600 and gained 16,000 monthly listeners in a month by running ads, there's a good chance they will stay for at least 3, 5, or even 12 months. This could be thanks to the listeners playing your music from their own libraries, and/or algorithmic playlists further boosting your growth. Assuming the numbers don't grow, 16,000 listeners might listen to your music about 4 times per month. That’s 64,000 plays per month, nearly 400,000 streams in 6 months. Then, as I mentioned, you're likely to gain Spotify followers, which means you're almost guaranteed to get more streams on your next releases as a result. Running ads on Instagram helps you grow followers there as well. This means you'd also build an audience there, which you can monetize if you know what you're doing. This is a quick rundown of how I think you should view it. Paying for random playlisting doesn't make sense because the numbers drop to zero the next day. This approach, on the other hand, helps you build a real fanbase, not just numbers.

@@GiovanniBottan I entirely agree, the primary focus shouldn't be instant streams, and I'd never advocate for third party playlisting, but an estimate as vauge as $5 - $20 will obviously yeild completely different results. Anyone can reach 1 million streams/fans/followers with enough money. It's about assessing your own situation and how output you get from what you input, but here, the imput is a mystery, only the output is recorded.

@@oopsySeason In my first reply I mentioned an example where I can actually share the budget used since it’s my own band, which I sometimes use as an example. It’s called Slowchamber and you can see our Spotify, IG and KZbin. We’ve been investing anywhere between $5 and $20 per day since the beginning, depending on the release schedule. Outside of streaming/social numbers, we also have an email list of around 150 people, mostly people who bought our album pre orders. This should give you a better idea in terms of budget.

Hey! Really appreciate your insights. I was wondering what campaign you are using for retargeting the IG followers. My experience is, that conversions are super expensive due to the smaller audience. Maybe video views with a link to a landing page?
@GiovanniBottan

Good point! It can be tricky when a retargeting audience is not very big. We were still using Conversion ads though. The only downside is that it will die out quickly, like you said. My suggestion is to go with Conversions, add your remarketing audience, but choose Advantage+. I’ve been thinking to add that as a default setting for all Smart Noise campaigns actually!

With all due respect - you need to disclose that this band is also receiving a tonne of streams from paid playlist placements. In my experience it's better to not bother with these, as they limit your algorithmic traction and also lead to an insane drop off in listeners as soon as the playlist campaigns conclude. I would also quite heavily recommend not displaying the actual e-mail addresses that you've captured as it's a huge breach of trust.

A tonne? They definitely did not. Not sure where you saw that. All traction is coming from organic social and advertising. Streams from other listener’s playlists is 6% of the total streams.
