The Bison’s facial expressions says it all. He roared to shoo Spirit away only to be surprised that the little colt was unfazed and then smiled upon Spirit’s bravery.

I love how this scene shows the different sides of Spirit. One minute, he's carefree and having fun, and then the next minute, he is taking his duty as leader seriously and protecting his herd.

Well, this was a major nostalgia slap to my face. I still adore this movie. Also, since Spirit became the leader of his herd, I've always wondered if those two seal brown twin foals are actually his offspring. I think that it's a high possibility that they are, although they could still be the previous lead stallion's foals. This indicates that the previous lead stallion either died due to natural causes, or was defeated and drove off by Spirit when he became old enough to challenge his father for the herd.

Usually a stallion will kill an other stallions fouls when they take over a heard. If they are old enough the stallion would keep the filly’s and run out the colts. The twins are most likely his. Cool question!!

Oh yeah I hate when they use sounds that don't belong to the animal. They do that a lot with lions, too, giving them tiger roars. Just leave them their voices it sounds so silly to someone who knows better

Spirit was probably the bravest colt (name for male foals) in the herd, he litteraly played and being happy with bison herd, not to mention being the leading stallion and fighting that cougar

But his character flaw is his arrogance and immaturity. His curiosity and thinking he can beat the wranglers at their own game led to his own capture. From that point onwards came his arc of maturing (bonding with and trusting Little Creek, falling in love with Rain, seeing the world outside of his and his herd)

I totally miss good, old 2D drawn animations. If you love them too, you can watch the beautiful (brand new) movie; a boy, a mole, a fox and a horse. I enjoy it. @@josephdizon3493 thats not how horse herds work. Only one stallion has breeding rights to the mares, all others are banished from the herd. Those most likely are his foals, and there’s no ‘cheating’ in the horse world, but stallions will have favorite mares.
