I'm a calf to beef farmer in west tipperary and we lost an Angus bullock to a broken ankle on Wednesday had to call d vet to put him down it was a sad day but unfortunately when you've livestock you'll had dead stock but as long as we keep our mental health we'll be fine

Watched your previous videos , a good one for lameness, foot rot , scaulds etc is engemycin blue spray with 5cc of penicillin, unreal job, I advise you now to try that on 5 or 10 ewes and just monitor them you will see some difference in 2 or 3 days

A sad fact of sheep farming is they can die so easy... out of 800 swaledale sheep during bad snow storms in co. Durham... in the 1960s we lost 130 not buried in the drifts but afterwards with pneumonia .....cheers folks

That ram is too soft for your conditions. Like most pedigree bred, he probably was pumped up on cake. Fed grass, they last was my mantra. The force fed fade away with a bit of work too. Texels on the other hand have had to weather the misery of North Sea gales on the Dutch dykes where they were employed to keep the grass tidy and not allow trees to grow, the root of which would breach the dyke. Sorry you had such an expensive loss. Did you get a post mortem?
