Academy Award Winner Lindy Hemming joins me for a walk through the style choices of James Bond from GoldenEye (1995) to Casino Royale (2006). An amazing discussion of the detail and process Lindy went through to make Bond the sartorial icon he is today. Along the way we discover information about the clothing of Bond that we NEVER KNEW! When David is not running an advertising and marketing company, his hobby is The Bond Experience which is primarily a video blog where he discusses Bond experiences and the people and brands that help to create those experiences...
The mantra of living like Bond, one moment at a time emanates from a concept of experiencing the joy of collecting small moments in life that add up to amazing journeys and stories....whether it's through style, locations, literature, fitness, and the movies themselves the world of Bond is explored through its people and their stories.
Ultimately though, The Bond Experience channel is a celebration of the James Bond franchise and the many people that form a true community. Our core mission is to create a strong connection in the Bond community amongst all the fans, regardless of interest or demographic.

From a collectors perspective that might be huge, but other than that it's no big deal. Massimo Dutti is made in China and therefore not something that the real James Bond would ever wear.

Funnily enough, I bought a massimo dutti shirt in TK Maxx (TJ Maxx to our brothers in Langley) . So instinctively after watching this video I compared the shirt to the magnoli replica of the polo. The blue is pretty much identical. Shame we’re 15 years too late to track down the originals. Having said that, this is an incredibly insightful video, entertaining from start to finish

Even for me, who isn't necessarily into the clothing of Bond persé found it interesting to hear Lindy talk. Interesting to see how interested she is in the haircuts each time too! The military waistcoat Bond wears at the climax of Goldeneye was made in a factory in Leicester by a very talented tailor called Kanti. He was a good friend of mine and I have to confess he let me try it on when it was nearly complete. Brosnan sent him a very nice signed photo and message after completing the shoot. I always get a buzz when I see the scene!!

I have always wondered if Bond is aware of the clothes & brands he’s wearing (apart from the product placements, which he acknowledges). It’s probably stupid, but I would love to see a scene of Bond shopping or visiting his tailor. Edit: not like Kingsman obviously, but something subtler & less gaudy.
