Acts 21:26 is just one instance in which Paul apparently felt the need to have to sacrifice an animal before entering the Jerusalem Temple in the presence of the Apostles. This means that the Apostles continued sacrificing (even after the "ultimate sacrifice" of Jesus?)-- and Paul also conformed to this teaching outwardly, while in their presence, even though elsewhere he disregards the need for sacrifices and following other Commandments.

I only continue this discussion because, unlike so many others, you have not been abusive or rude, which I appreciate. There are moments where you almost seem like a half reasonable person. That is why I would ask you to agree with me when I say that there is no verse in the Qur'an either that says "everyone MUST believe or die". Fine, the Bible doesn't say that. But neither does the Qur'an. Don't let the dislike of a people or a religion prevent you from being fair.

In response to your question about female circumcision, the cutting off of the clitoris is pretty much universally considered by Islamic scholars to be a form of haraam or illegal mutilation, hence it is not allowed. *Some* allow for some type of partial circumcision (not of the clitoris) but they are in a minority and our major institutions like al-Azhar in Cairo have declared fatwas against it.

Can you please tell me what dictionary of Standard English you are using, exactly? Christ is from the Greek "Christos" which translates as Messiah. There are many different interpretations of what "Messiah" means. "Christ" does not mean "God", not even to many Christians. By the way, I do believe that Jesus played the role of a "saviour" in that his teachings lead to salvation in the Next Life.

Excellent biblical verse. It proves without question that there were other versions of Jesus that were being preached during Paul's time, which is very early and close to the time of Jesus. So clearly, Paul's version of Jesus was just one amongst many versions of Jesus that was being preached at that time. Many scholars believe that Paul was actually referring to the teachings of the Jerusalem Fathers at this point-- ie. the original Apostles of Jesus.

WELCOME TO JANNAH, my sister. Peace, Mercy, and Blessings of Allāh God be upon you. -“Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and…. (Allāh God lists 10 categories of male-female equality),...Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward” -(Qur’an 33:35) -“And whoever does good deeds, whether male or FEMALE, and he (or she) is a believer -these will enter the Garden, and they will NOT be dealt with a whit unjustly”-Qur’an 4:124) -“And those who believe and whose off-spring follow them in faith -We unite them with their offspring and We shall deprive them of naught of their work. Every man is pledged for his work”-Qur’an 52:21). And in OUR Paradise there is no reading past-time stories and watching wolves hanging out with lambs and lions stripping hay like the cow. Or herding cows for three trillion years and then returning to earth to take rebirths as animals, humans and plants. In OUR Paradise: “Surely for those who keep their duty is achievement, Gardens and vineyards, And youthful (companions), equals in age, And a pure cup. They hear not therein vain words, nor lying - A reward from thy Lord, a gift sufficient”-(Qur’an 78:31-36) Any wonder then that even in the face of our adversities and suffering Muslims still laugh and smile: “And you hope from Allāh what they hope not”-(Qur’an 4:104). Māshā-Allāh! Alhamdo-lillāh! Allāho Akbar! nogodbutallah.org/?page_id=430 Islam liberated woman and gives her rights alongside man from birth to Jannah/Paradise: nogodbutallah.org/?page_id=328 Islam is superior to all religions: nogodbutallah.org/?page_id=414 Islam is the only Divinely revealed Religion; and, by compulsion, every person is a Muslim: nogodbutallah.org/?page_id=592 If Jesus came to die for the sins of the world; and for him (though he had power to lay down his life and take it up again) to pray so pitifully that his sweat was “like drops of blood falling to the ground” for God to save him from this grand and momentous “glory”, and to further blaspheme from the “cross” that God had “forsaken” him, THIS MUST BE THE BLACKEST DEGREE OF DISGRACE ever exampled by a Son of God and God in Scriptural history. Not even the Jews of 1400’s Vienna behaved so ignominiously as this Christians’ Son of God (and God); but fearlessly entered the Christian furnace of fire to be burned alive rather than kiss the useless and unGodly crucifix and desecrate the Sheema -the Purity of His Holy Highness. For all their “stiffnecked(ness),” and their “strain(ing) at a gnat and swallow(ing) a camel,” as Jesus observed, Allāh God must be well-pleased with these Viennese Jews for not violating His Sanctity; and may have already accorded them Jannah/Paradise. And If Jesus was God, God was praying to Himself and had “forsaken” Himself. This is one of the lunacies for which Christians have hundreds of thousands of missionaries plaguing the world to drown it in the mythical blood of Jesus Christ. Muslims who apostatized from Islam (rather than learn Islam), and Christians who want a “mansion” or “bungalow” in heaven, and Hindus who desire Swarga have the grand opportunity while you are alive -and no one knows when he/she will die; and when you die this opportunity evaporates like a dewdrop in Hell- to return/turn to Allāh; to “There is no God but Allāh; Mohammad is the Messenger of Allāh.” NO MAN COMETH TO GOD BUT BY MOHAMMAD: nogodbutallah.org/?page_id=85

There is no deceit in my video title. Her name is Nancy ALI and she is wearing a hijab. Only an idiot would think that this was linking to a Christian video. By the way, look up the definition of God in various passages in the Old Testament, if you are so concerned about using titles correctly. God is One, God is the Highest, God does not change, God is not a man or the son of man. This means you are not being truthful in calling Jesus God.

When Jesus said "The Father is greater than I" He said it from the perspective of his incarnated human nature. The object of Jesus here is not to compare his nature with that of the Father, but his condition. Ye would rejoice that I am to leave this state of suffering and humiliation, and resume that glory which I had with the Father before the world was.

As for the verse about the wife who rebels against God, the Arabic word used has an alternate translation: "Leave, let out"... So for a wife whom you've admonished, denied intimacy, who still persists in her ways, the Qur'an says, "Leave her, let her go." That makes more sense, doesn't it?

It's actually the opposite. It is the New Testament that is silent on whether anyone can be forced to convert or not. This is why, historically, Christians *did* force people to convert. The Qur'an is not silent on the matter. It says that there is no compulsion in religion. Admittedly, that is interpreted by most scholars to mean that you cannot force anyone to convert (ie. into) Islam, but that is a big start.
@lessingtom

#2 Jesus never forced anyone to believe on Him or his message. He always said "whomsoever believes" and not "everyone MUST believe or die." He also said: "And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (Joh 12:47-48)

You reacted exactly the way I anticipated when you said: "The Qur'an by the way does not specify any legal punishment for apostasy . . ." Have you forgotten the Hadith? The Hadith forms the theological bedrock for the death sentence on apostasy. There are numerous Hadith that unequivocally states that apostates are to be killed. Unlike the Quran there is no ambiguity or subjectivity in the Hadith’s statements.

That may be your view, but mine is that we still follow all of them. Christ has become our Sabbath rest and we are to rest in Him. If you are not understanding what I am saying read all of Hebrews 4 and Collosians 2 to get a clearer picture. As Collosians says, Christ is the substance behind the Sabbath day.

I'm pretty sure that Muslims would never tolerate any false teachers' writings to be incorporated in the Qur'an. In the same way those false teachers' writings to whom Paul referred were never incorporated in the Bible. Yes, Paul mentions their heresies but only to warn his brethren of their false teachings.

I didn't post it up because it is a red herring and it has nothing to do with our debate. When Christians are on the losing side of a debate, they always do this--- pull out the sad violin and start going on about persecution. Please, take the log out of your own eye and first explain to me why and how Christians sent tens of thousands of Muslims into death camps in eastern Europe just 15 years ago, in what was the only genocide in Europe after World War II.

Even Paul is referring to the Old Testament as "scripture" here, not his own writings or the four gospels (which would be written after his epistles) because 2 Ti 3:15 mentions that you have known the Scriptures "since your childhood." It is the Old Testament that Jews during Paul's time would have known "since childhood", not the gospels which you quoted from (nor Paul's epistles).

I do not deny that there is no verse in the Qur'an that says "everyone MUST believe or die." My concern is that if the Qur'an forbids it by remaining silent on the matter, why are so many Muslims killing their own next of kin because they have converted to another religion, be it Buddhism, Hinduism or even Christianity? Are they not disobeying Allah and his prophet Mohammad?

In that case, your reply is different from that of *virtually every* Christian that I've met (except 7th Day Adventists) who would say that if a Jew becomes a Christian, he is no longer under the law and therefore he and/or his children do not need to be circumcised. Your answer is completely different from that.

Just found this message now. To answer your question, even though Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice to forgive us of our sins, the breaking of God's law is still a sin and we should not sin. So yes, we should follow the ten commandments. All ten commandments still apply, however, the one about the Sabbath day now has a deeper meaning in Christ. See Hebrews 4:9&10 and Colossians 2:16&17. All true Christians believe this, so not sure what you mean by "Christians do not have a consistent answer".
@lessingtom

May I say something here. The Jews were severely rebuked for their notion that circumcision of the flesh made sinners acceptable to God. It is the circumcision of the heart (repentance and faith) that matters with God. However, I would never advise any Jew who has become a Christian not to circumsize his children.

You should have this debate with Tom instead of me. Which commandments did Jesus abrogate (or "fulfill") and which ones are still in operation? This is a debate that Christianity has been having for 2000 years. Should the 10 Commandments still be followed or not? Christians do not have a consistent answer on even this basic question. The answer depends on who you ask. Yes/no? It is confusion.

It is true that *some* Muslims say that Christians worship 3 gods. It's also true that some Christians say that Jews worship the devil and that Muslims worship Mecca. Let's stick to the point. I say Christianity has little to do with Christ because it is more concerned with the teachings of Paul than the teachings of Jesus. Jesus taught proper faith in One God (in a unitarian sense) and to follow the Commandments. Christians basically say:"God is three persons, and screw the Commandments."

Also, it is unfair to compare a religion which includes law (Islam) to that which, in its modern form, does not include any law (Christianity). So for example, you can criticize Islam's laws on anything from how to deal with a thief to the laws surrounding breastfeeding to marriage allowed with cousins, etc., but what you *can't* do is to tell us what the Bible says should be the proper laws concerning these things. So for example, is female circumcision allowed/prohibited in the NT?? Answer?

According the "Isra w'al Mi'raaj" it was Moses who advised him to plead with Allah to have the fifty prayers per day reduced to five and not Jesus. Paul received an entire revelation on the Christian faith from the genuine Jesus. Faith it is, yes, but the evidence that Paul received a revelation directly from Jesus is borne out by the fact that his message is completely in harmony with the teaching of the 12 Apostles who saw and followed Jesus in the flesh.

Good for you. Physical circumcision was never given to the gentile nations. If you disagree maybe you can show me where in the Bible it says otherwise. God alone is to be worshiped, not some man-made object.

Can you show me anywhere in the teachings of the Bible (whether it is from the words of Jesus, Paul, or anyone else) that says that we should no longer follow the commandments? Granted some of the commandments have been fulfilled in Christ (such as animal sacrifice since Jesus was our ultimate sacrifice for sin). That's why Jesus said in Matthew 5:17: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." See also Romans 6.

#2 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. (Gal 1:11-12). Paul received the Gospel directly from Jesus Christ. How then could he have referred to the original Apostles of Jesus if he hadn't received the Gospel from them or had been taught by them but directly in a revelation by Jesus Himself?

This always happen. I answer the Christian`s question, but the Christian evades mine. You conveniently did not answer my question. Please re-read my last post.

Actually we can have it both ways. The argument you are trying to make is like saying I can either say that you are a single person, or that you have three parts: body, soul, and spirit, and that both cannot be true. They are not mutually exclusive and are clearly both true. To say that God is three persons does not negate the fact that God is One. In John 14:7 Jesus said: "From now on you do know [the Father] and have seen Him." Colossians 1:15 also testifies to this.

Yes, I've read it. These are the words of Paul, not Jesus.

Firstly, not all Muslims visit the shrines of saints. That is as ignorant as saying that all Christians do. Secondly, in his Confessions (6.2.2.), St. Augustine wrote approvingly of the practice of praying through saints and holy places. But oh, wait, I guess St. Augustine wasn't a real Christian either. O-kay. We are not going to get anywhere.

You originally said that the Qur'an disproves that Islam is a religion of peace and then linked that statement with the issue of apostacy, hence I answered from the perspective of the Qur'an. Unlike you, I do answer questions, so here it is: Yes, there is a hadith that does mention the death penalty for apostasy, but this too is up for debate and interpretation. Death penalty, by the way, cannot be intrinsically immoral, otherwise it would not have been COMMANDED BY JESUS (God) in the OT.

Yes, let's be honest-- KZbin is full of Christians who would tell me that I worship the devil, the moon, a book, a black stone, Muhammad, etc. You don't have to survey the comments on too many KZbin videos on Islam before you will find this phenomenon.

You are taking one verse out of context and trying to build a case off of that. Take a look at the surrounding verses of the one that I posted. Who was Jesus talking to? Now take a look at the surrounding verses of the one that you posted. Who was Jesus talking to? If you can answer those questions you will see that there is absolutely no contradiction to what Jesus is saying.

The poster INTENTIONALLY said in the title "To Christ". Shame on you.

Well, Jesus prayed to His Father in heaven when He begged the cup of suffering to pass Him by, nevertheless not His will be done but that of His Father. So it's not merely to whom you pray but what you pray, according to God's (Jahweh's) will. It is for instance God's will that Christians pray for the salvation of all people, including your own.

I said "Standard English usage,", not "Standard English". When used "To Christ", it means Christ as a part of Triune God. Again. you are twisting the word "salvation" from its standard English usage. I repeat, Islam, is NOT that frail for you to be doing this.

Jesus said that even the "Son" (with a capital "S") does not know the time of the Last Hour. So even if the "Son" is a god or divine in some way, he is obviously inferior in knowledge and power to God ("the Father"), and thus it is not only the "incarnated human nature" of Jesus (as you put it) that is inferior to God, but also any other nature that Jesus may possess. Checkmate.

That is a convenient loophole and escape clause-- it is called the "True Scotsman fallacy". Basically, when a Christian does something wrong (even when it reflects the teachings of the largest church in the world-- the Catholic Church), it is because "he is not a real Christian". But when a loon-case like Anjem Choudhary (who is *not* even an imam) does or says something, he is considered the infallible last word on Islam. Very convenient indeed.
