This is the golden rule for clarinettists and saxophonists. It is called anchored tongue. It doesn’t have to work for everyone but if you listen carefully to his explanation, he says that the tongue has to touch the upper molars, that provoke and “E” (in English) voicing. A general “E” voicing is the golden rule, as it is for singers. He is not teaching wrongly: he is one of the most extraordinary musician among clarinettist and for sure one of the few great masters of the clarinet. Please listen to his discography and you’ll discover the immense artist beyond the clarinet.

So he is suggesting to relax the tongue opposed to having a high position which would help the airflow be much faster? Maybe that's why he sounds so spread on the clarinet. Please Mr. Neidich, stop spreading wrong information about creating a nice, focused sound on the clarinet. Thank you. Edit: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eauZnZikmLGCfbM
