Newspaper technique is genius!! So simple and yet I didnt think about it on my own. The sculpture looks absolutely stunning, textures are great and sphere form is always iconic. Really loved it, thanks for sharing!

15:27 I love your creation and thank you for showing the ingenious trick of putting a slab with holes over your balls. I have a question: how thick must the wall of the ball be to make this carving possible? Sorry for my English, I am from The Netherlands.

I enjoyed the process. I'm fairly new to ceramics and understand the importance of wrapping work to slow drying, but when you apply the lattice of fresh clay the main piece looks drier, if not yet leather-hard. The final results are great - I just wonder if there were any steps taken to avoid cracking due to drying at different rates?

Lovely! What clay do you use, is it groggy?
@basaltlineceramics7105 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I used white stoneware toned with oxide powder.

@@basaltlineceramics7105 I'm completely new to this form of artwork. What type of clay would you suggest for a complete beginner who hasn't got a kiln? Is there a type of clay that can be baked in an oven or air-dried?
