I don’t think it matters where he got his PC from because. I got mine from Walmart too. granted is not all the same parts eventually. I upgrade everything that was inside of it. But even if he gets a pre-built somewhere else he still has to maintenance on it. like cleaning it, and make sure everything’s all together still. And parts can die it’s not a guarantee there’s gonna make it to next year next month.

To be a satisfied pc gamer you either have to have a dual pc setup or buy a pc for a least 4000 dollars or you gonna always free like your gaming missing something or not strong enough

I've only played on PC for a few years and a weakling PC at that but couldn't go back to only console. If I was having problems I'd work the problems until resolved.

Check your psu as it might be a sign that it is not delivering enough power to your pc components.

I'm not blaming you Doc I know your not very tech savvy. I know if your a console gamer coming to PC a prebuilt is going to be more enticing to you overall which makes sense. It's already assembled. It has a warranty on it. You didn't have to worry about your drivers and updates at first anyway. I think it would have been better to let iSO or somebody build you a custom build that's to your exact preference though.

That was giving away his PC I wasn’t there to look at the picture before he bought it. But I only think you get scam when you’re buying something off another person that’s a pre-build. The only thing I can say bad about Cyberpower PCs they sometimes put there fans all on outtake instead of putting some of them on intake but. I just think this is a general statement, I would never buy a pre-build hat’s over $1000.

It could be where you had it behind the tv the psu was not getting enough air flow and overheating, maybe try putting it in the open with a fan on it and running motorsport and see if it crashes again.

Doc you might be right, keep using it with other games and if you really want to risk it play Forza but on 1080p since you playing on your monitor now and see if it shuts down because you didn't troubleshoot that much in software so don't jump the gun on hardware yet. Idk what wattage your power supply is and who knows it could be getting pushed over the edge playing forza on 4k even if it's downscaled.

Anyone that says buying a pre-built is a good idea has no idea what they're talking about. These companies will overcharge you and use the cheapest parts. They're depending on the people buying the, to not know anything about PC...They'll tell you the GPU and CPU..but what about the motherboard? What kind of PSU are they using? Hell, his PC is probably turning off because they installed a trash power supply

Pre-Built is a no-no unless it is a trusted PC builder and to be honest, at this point you're still better off building it yourself. Nowadays PC building is Lego level difficulty.

As for the not wanting to clean out a pc, thats a bit disingenuous, any console since the 80's gathers dust, theres a reason peopl used to blow on carts, but now these console have fans, any console especially with fans and radiator fins will get dusty unless they are running in a room with zero dust (like an intel processor lab) ive cleaned out xbox 360's and ps4's they all get dusty and will need a clean arguably more difficult to do so also.

The issue is not Walmart, it's not pre builts. The issue manufacturers that skimp on important parts to get things down to a certain price. Alot of the times they include off brand power supplies or SSD or even off brand RAM. Because the consumer mainly reads either AMD or Nvidia and nothing else matters. Just knowing the components coming with the pre build you are buying should be more than enough to feel safe with your purchase. You should check what brand that PSU your pc has.

if it shuts off, it could be that your power supply is not pumping enough juice to your pc. might need a bigger watt psu

"the average gamer builds first pc" when that journey is done, maybe it'll prove to everyone that it's a lot easier than most gamers realize.

try running forza on your 4070 laptop doc, it could just be amd graphics drivers. their new rdna 3 architecture which the rog ally also uses (rx 7000 series) seems to have problems with some dx12 games

Doc Dark sorry about your pc. My nephew bought an i buy power pc and he hd an issue where he couldn't get passed the Bios screen into windows. He called the company and everything they suggested didnt work to get the pc up and running again. I have to say im nervous because both my cousin and me are building our own lol. My sis gonna kill me if this dont workout cause i conviced her to pay for my nephew pc parts. I dont know anything about pc. Im scared Doc lol!

Also Doc if you want value for your money then AMD makes the most sense in that regard if you don't care about ray tracing and stuff like that. AMD isn't the best but they certainly aren't bad by any means their newer stuff is actually very impressive for the price in my opinion. I think you can get a 7800XT which is a 4070 equivalent for under 500$ and it has 16GB of VRAM so it's future proofed for a while. Now if you want all the goodies like ray tracing/path tracing and all the stuff with DLSS you need an Nvidia card it costs more but it's a good card too.

pre-build pcs are usually trash. consoles are created for gamers who do not want or cant build gaming pcs. with that said, being that your PC is still new, you are most likely stressing the limits of the PSU.

A custom built PC is not exempt from hardware or software problems. You emphasised that a console is more convenient than a PC. There’s no necessity to troubleshoot or tweak settings to achieve optimum performance. The enthusiast crowd sending you advice have missed the point completely!

The only 2 things I can say are it's something with your power supply or it's the Forza game itself. Try more super demanding games or play at 4k and if it doesn't happen again you have your answer.

it can happen if you're pushing it, but only if you have a faulty power supply or if the graphics card is too strong for it to handle. most power supplies have something called 'overcurrent protection' which makes it automatically shut off to protect it from damage & overheating.

Why don't you continue playing on consoles and that's it, you're just painting a picture that gaming on the PC requires troubleshooting as if in everyday life people don't work and operate computers.
