I love this game, but it the units do need some balancing. There are a few units that if you over commit in the early game, you can just immediately fail, the thief and mandrake units for example really need support from other troops in the early game but are really good once you can put down rank 2 and 3 versions. In contrast, Harpies into Sirens is actually amazing defensively and offensively, and the RNG requirements aren't that intense to acquire. Oh, and the wyvern can be upgraded into an actual dragon, which requires you to add in a chest of gold coins to the chain. Its pretty intense to get the set up, and i've never been able to field a ranked version.

The minmaxing is exhausting to watch. The game just doesn't perfectly calculate all the time. The worst thing I see KZbinrs do to themselves is get stuck posting one game because they are chasing the numbers that game does. Then they get an audience that doesn't want to see anything else. Variety is important for a lot of reasons.
