Great video as always.. Trying different things is how we learn in life. And sharing our experiences will help others. I thought that I would have Annabells and silver dollars to sell next year. Lost all of my silver dollars and all but 3 annabells to the deer.. grazed them all in one night. Maybe next year lol. God bless ❤

Thanks for sharing the parts that don't do so well as we all go through the same. Hoping everything continues to grow for your business!

Love your videos, I’m getting some shade tunnels up in the spring !! a Local nursery gave me a whole bunch of used shade net for free :). Here in idaho, most nurseries just buy stock from oregon and resell. No one does cuttings and it makes plants quite expensive. I’m growing 1000+ northern catalpa from seed in the spring and i’m doing hybrid poplar
@savvydirtfarmer

Very good. I don't buy calling a place a "nursery" if they aren't gorwing plants themselves. I mean, you can buy resell plants at dollar general. It's just a totally different way of understanding what this business is.

I had big plans for my nursery this fall. I had it all written out on paper then, HELENE came through and dropped a tree on my greenhouse. Now I don't have a greenhouse to propagate and start my plants like I planned. ugh! So i am currently still starting seeds in the house but I will need to find something really quick, because space is already running out. Your stuff looks great and I hope to have something together in the next few weeks!

I really don't know for sure. You're quite a bit colder than us. BUT... it won't hurt to try... you may learn something that changes everything for you. I'm still dividing and potting perennials now for next Spring... and, between now and then, they'll just sit out in the open and do their thing.

The three thuja green giants I bought earlier this year have just randomly put on abt 5 inches in seemingly a matter of weeks, I’m assuming because the roots finally set they’ve started sending top growth all be it later in the year. I think for my first try at propagation I’m going to take only one of them and cut it up to experiment. If it fails, then I’ll try again. Overall I feel drastically motivated to this kind of thing, I even have pine tree seeds in stratifying since I’m just super fascinated with trees

@savvydirtfarmer

When you buy a plant, it should be marked or otherwise labeled as being patented. The language varies... "PPAF" , "Asexual propagation prohibited..." , "Propagation prohibited PP 21345 (or whatever 3)....etc. Look for pretty pots and pretty labels... sometimes those things are giveaways that a plant is patented, but not always.
