Good morning everyone! A warm welcome to the new viewers. Welcome back to my dear old subscribers! Today marks another exciting day in Himachal, and I’m super excited to share it with you. I’m heading upstairs to join the nuns as they prepare for the Puja tomorrow. The atmosphere is buzzing with excitement as everyone gets ready for the puja, and I’m here to witness and participate in the preparations.
When I arrive, the nuns are busy making Khapse, traditional Tibetan crispy cookies. I’m thrilled to get involved! First, I watch as the nuns prepare the dough by mixing atta, maida, sugar water, oil, and more. Once the dough is ready, we pack it into plastic bags to make the process easier.
The real fun begins when we start shaping the Khapse. Some of the nuns are heating oil with a wood fire to fry the cookies. There’s a special step to making the Scorpio (a shape or symbol that must be made first), and honestly, I’m not sure why, but it’s necessary, so I dive right in!
After a fun and productive morning, it’s time for a lunch break. The little nuns gather in the dining hall for a warm meal, while I take a break with some friends in the sun to escape the cold. After lunch, it’s back to work.
Later, I head to the puja hall to help with flower arrangements and make sure everything is set for the ceremony. Finally, I assist some of the nuns with changing the offerings for the longse, a Tibetan prayer offering.
By the end of the day, I head back to my room, feeling grateful for such a rich experience in Himachal. Thank you so much for watching, and don’t forget to like, share, comment, and of course, subscribe for more adventures. Stay tuned for the next part of my journey!
