Humans can already talk, I find them plenty rude enough. No need to add more species to this list.😮🎉

Can relate with the "I graduated college with zero experience and zero internships thing", definitely a big no no for anyone who wants to get into design. You gave some insightful info but do I wish you went into more detail with how YOU got a job, like what were the specifics? What exactly did your portfolio look like? How many projects were on it? Did you get a job by randomly applying online, or did someone specifically reach out to you? How long did it take for you to actually land a real design job? Was it full time? I was in the same boat as you when I graduated, I didn't do any internships and had zero experience, but I managed to land a freelancing role with a startup company a year after I graduated. recently my hours have been very low so I'm looking for other tips and tricks on how to land a new role, since having a year worth of professional experience still isn't enough for people lol.

wow! these are great questions that I'll keep in mind for my next videos. I often worry I put too much "talking" and have an issue with cutting things short. However to answer your questions, How I got the job and what my portfolio looked like at the time was very bare, I had a couple of College projects that involved "an Album cover, two poster designs, and a brochure" I would not recommend apply with the bare minimum like I did so I attached my portfolio link in the description if you'd like to check it out. 😃 As for applying for a job, I have a tendency to apply "randomly" but there are key words that trigger me to click when I see "Real Estate - Medical - University - Nonprofit" those tend to catch my eyes more when applying for a graphic design position. I will make another video about this but it took me somewhat a year until I got my fulltime gig, and it was with a signshop/apparel company. Where I got to expand on different design platforms! I'd suggest to take this time and explore different graphic design jobs, even if you feel you arent fully qualified. We tend to pick things up really fast when you are in the storm itself! I'm wishing you the best with finding the right fit. I can promise it gets easier every year. 💗

@@LittleFlame93 Thanks for the response! I have a couple of decent projects on my portfolio and a decent resume. I've applied to different types of jobs over the last few years, I've gotten a few interviews here and there but never really made it past the final round. So I'd definitely love to hear more about what you did to get your role!

hello Little flame I am a new subscriber 😄. May I ask you witch university you were study in and how many years ?
@LittleFlame93Ай бұрын
of course, I went to Oregon State University and studied for 4 years. But I mostly benefited from just the last two years. The other two years were classes like traditional art, printmaking, science classes etc...
