from film to the fuji x100v (my experience making the switch to digital)

Glad you have found a digital camera that is working for you. For me (I shot film for over 20 years) I went with the X-E1 then upgraded to the X-E3 for an economical option. I have used it in light rain, mist, fog, and even in damp caves; so far only ones did the have a problem and that was from wet sandy cave where the camera might have touched the water. It is the cheapest best film camera replacement IMO. Besides the film profiles that look like the film ( I shot fuji film in the past) it also allows you to use old vintage lenses and replica lenses this gives true film like result as you are using older lens and get the aesthetics ( aberrations, boken and soft/sharpness) that a vintage lens gives. Or you can put on a modern lens and get that crisp digital type image with a film color and contrast profile.

Yes! The X-E line is such a great option - its form factor is incredible. I love the idea of keeping a little pancake lens on for portability in most situations while also being able to switch it out if necessary. I was surprised to hear Fuji axed the X-E4 given how popular the line seems to be. And good to know about your experiences in different weather situations! That gives me some more confidence in taking my own camera out into light rain or mist. I haven't experimented with vintage lenses yet but that sounds like a great next step to try once I get more comfortable taking it slow for manual adjustments rather than running and gunning.
