From Foal To Yearling!!! - Natties 1st Birthday LIVE!!!

Nattie, our new Clydesdale filly is 1 year old today! ( 7-7-2024 ) She has gone from a sweet foal to officially being a yearling! Not a baby any longer! In the Live we let her decide if she likes Apple treats, carrots or apples best. Then we head down to the scale room to get a new weight on her. But on the way we stop to meet Oliver for the FIRST TIME! They are breath taking next to each other. Nattie weighed in at 645! She has gained 105 lbs. sense arriving on our homestead! Pretty good for a yearling foal who is doing SO MUCH GROWING!
I figured it will be fun to keep a growth chart for Nattie.
10 months - 540 lbs / 13.2 Hands
12 months - 645 Ibs

You know what, once I got used to it actually being in a different alignment instead of something being "wrong" on my phone, I like the portrait recording as opposed to the landscape. If it were the herd instead of individuals then landscape orientation would work better. But portrait works well there. Oliver has a deep reddish color when he's next to Nattie. And she appears to be more of a golden color. Thanks for showing them.

@@homesteadhorsemanship Maybe you could try to make a video specifically about the environmental hazards, and ESPECIALLY the VERY real dangers to animals of releasing balloons to the environment, both normal ones and helium balloons. I always knew they had to go somewhere, but many stupid people just refuse to acknowledge it! Recently plastic bags and straws have been outlawed here. We need to outlaw non biodegradable balloons too. That wouldn't eliminate the problem, but it might help. And a video on the idea by you, at some point in time, would really help a lot, especially if you can think of ways to make it go viral, like a catchy title of course, and maybe by using lots of colorfully balloons as props, as long as you keep them on long tethers, or under control somehow. I always wonder whether fireworks have any long term bad effects on animals too. And maybe you could even send a link to the video to your former tormentor Raleigh Link (you could even send it through a proxy if you want to). I strongly dislike her for several reasons, including what she did to you when your pony died (Oliver's little friend.) That made me hate her, but I can't deny that her message of stopping abuse is a good one. She's just very arrogant, and misguided in how she does it. But my point is that she has a big audience, if she chose to spread the word that would double the video's reach. Anyway it's up to you. You are wonderful and as a fairly longtime veiwer now, I trust your decisions. I wasn't even thinking of this until this very moment, but it just occurred to me that if Becka is going to do training videos, she could become a target of Raleigh's, because she specializes in watching random videos her viewers send her, and without knowing any context criticizing them. Sometimes she's fair but sometimes not. Maybe Becka has already seen her videos, but if not, it would be a really good idea for her to be mentally prepared. Most of the time when people are knowledgable and caring she gives them a pass or an A+. At one point, a couple of years ago, she said something nice about JR. when I tried to find it later on I couldn't because it wasn't a whole video dedicated to his methods, just a side comment. But you guys have experienced th absolute worst of Raleigh. Her extreme arrogance, and her extreme ignorance, and her baseless cruelty. Many of her videos are, in her mind, what she considers to be a series called "Let's judge horse trainers." And I have to admit many of them are fair. She gave your friend Shae at Free Spirit Equestrian an A+. But she does judge the whole person on the basis of just 1 video, or on part of 1. I just think you should know this, and that Becka's videos will certainly be sent to her by viewers of Becka's at some point. She doesn't look for them. They are all sent. She has targetted some family's videos, even though they are not training videos, and even goes back time and time again to criticize them. And in at least 1 case she has an ongoing feud with a family. Granted, she does have valid points that should be addressed and that are causing distress to their animals, IMHO. She is an arrogant person, a know it all, and a braggart, but the teenyboppers love her because she's young (25) and kind of pretty. She and they think that she's competent, because she has a horse and recently got a 2nd one, and she is a veterinary student. But her methods are slapdash, ignorant, and often unfair. You were SO unfortunate to have been a target of hers, and she displayed her full capacity for ignorance and cruelty in regard to her treatment of you guys! I cried for you for days when she did that to you! So I felt it's only right that I let you know that at some point she will likely be "reviewed" or "reacted to" by Raleigh Link, and if you choose to let Becka know at some point in time, that's up to you. Thanks for all of the great videos! You've made so many lately! It's great that you remind people to like or thumbs up and to suascribe. So sorry to hear about Roo. And also to hear about your dad. I watch your dads videos I am a guitar player and I just by accident watched a few videos of you dads channel . I found your channel through your dad’s channel. I really enjoy your videos. I’m a subscriber to both of you channels. I was raised around horses. My grandfather was a good horse trainer. He had a team of Clydesdales Tom and Jerry. Tom lived to be 27 years old and Jerry lived to be 31 years old. They were the best horses ever. Gentle giants. Both were over 17 hands . My grandfather let us ride then became they were so gentle. My grandfather had a few quarter horses and some retired race horses. He also had some Indian ponies that he was breeding with quarter horses. He also had a few Appaloosa horses that he was crosse breeding with the quarter horses. I’m from the Cowessess First Nations in southern Saskatchewan . I spent my summers on the reserve working for my grandfather. My dad would farm me and my brother out. We would put up my dad’s hay and then we would go to my grandparents farm and put up my grandfather hay . We did that with the horses Tom and Jerry. I just love you guys channel it brings back memories of my childhood. Working with the horses.

You are SO lucky to have a loving daughter! When my dad got old, but not sick yet, my sister was in the same city, but she wouldn't help him at all, not even by doing a little cleaning or getting groceries now and then. There was bugs in his cereal! Because he called her once in a rare while for help with something, she decided to have him locked up in a nursing home, and claimed he had Alzheimer's. I tried unsuccessfully to fight it over long distance telephone. So I had to move back there, from Edmonton Alberta (way far above Montana) to Winnipeg Manitoba ( just above N Dakota) to fight it, to save him and take care of him, giving up the life I'd spent about 30 years building. Just because that selfish daughter (whom he had already given all of his money to, somewhere between $200,000 to $300,000.) couldn't be bothered with small things. There is more to it as well, but I won't go on about it for any longer. Even though Dad's been gone now for 10 years, it still breaks my heart. I'm sorry I was so lengthy. I just hope you know how lucky you are that your daughter cares. And I hope she knows how lucky she is to have you too! It certainly seems that she does. All of the best of everything to all of you, and I hope you enjoy a beautiful summer. ❤

I’m so sorry about Roo. She was a delight just waiting to happen. We can only trust God’s will about the sad things in life. Prayer’s for Emeri’s father.
