yes a large tub is necessary for dying. I got a plastic wash tub / sink from a thrift store. The temporary sort . love your perseverence!

You're so sweet and supportive, thanks! I ended up making a bodice out of the fabric for a costume and just posted that video today. I still have some left over, but I'm not sure what to do with it yet... maybe a hand bag :)

Try looking at restaurant equipment sales or closed canteen equipment sell off's for a cheaper large pot. Thrift stores can sometimes have stuff too. Or you can use a large metal bin. 😊

What a stunning colour! I've been wondering what colour I should dye the project I'm working on besides using woad, which I'm sure I haven't got enough of anyway ( though I might plant some more next year), and this looks like it would be a nice complementary colour to use. - Besides, elderberries are easily available for me. So, it's pretty much the perfect solution. - Thank you for providing it! Also thank you, for making me feel a little less weird, seeing that said project is currently making my own wool cloth and then eventually turning it into a dress from the wool from our sheep... - And my hubby has already decided to plant some flax next year, too. Guess, I have my work cut out. 😂

Maybe a large galvanized wash tub from an antique store or farm supply store would be big enough?

I got lucky and found a really big aluminum pot made for frying whole turkeys at the thrift store. It was right after a holiday, so I’m pretty sure someone tried frying a turkey once, almost burned their house down, then I got a $2 dye pot 😂
