We always said he was our future he developed at the perfect time too considering all his injuries and setbacks Actually the Allen trade helped in the long run because if we still had Allen we prob wouldn’t have this version of Claxton!! To watch this young man grow like the once Jared Allen, is truly amazing and I thank the past and especially the present owners for NOT creating a revolving door system, organization and especially team. *Coach Jacque Vaughn been an assistant since 2016 is an example.* This is what made me proud to be a Nets fan. The fact that we have always contended and had players on this team who's been on this team for years before finally spreading their wings on to other teams. Hopefully we can win a championship with this squad.

I was incensed when Allen got traded because he was steadily improving but I also saw that Claxton was a far more coordinated athlete that just needed to get stronger. I'm glad he's kept the work ethic he honed during his youth till now and has developed and continues to expand his game. He's upper tier on the defensive end and warrants some DPOY consideration thus far. Not necessarily needed right now in the Nets offense but a midrange game for him would take him to another level and I have no doubt he can reach there if he puts his mind to it and has the support of the Nets front office and coaching staff.
