The whole way this works nowadays just makes me want to give up music. I have a full time job to actually live, then I have to find time to write music, record, perform, and spend hours trying to push our band on social media. All the while, competing with not only other bands doing the same, but now also a myriad of 'influencers' that can dedicate themselves to this full time. There's no way I can leave my day job to do this instead, and I don't have the time to start doing it outside of work alongside everything else. We're all fighting for people's attention, while individuals and companies are all doing the same too.
