From heatwave to record-breaking rainfall: Severe waterlogging and traffic jams grip Delhi-NCR

Heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR on Thursday and Friday led to widespread waterlogging and severe traffic jams. The city received 228 mm of rain, marking the highest in June since 1936. The downpour caused significant disruptions, exposing deficiencies in the city's infrastructure, especially its drainage system. Commuters faced challenges with submerged roads and major traffic disruptions. Noida also experienced severe waterlogging in many areas. While the rainfall relieved the intense heat, it highlighted the urgent need for improved monsoon preparedness in Delhi-NCR.
