This film revived Frank’s career with his Oscar win for “From Here to Eternity.” He deserved his renewed success from this win. Louis B. Mayer robbed him of it when he unfairly “left” MGM, but Frank reclaimed his success and never looked back. “They can’t take that away from Sinatra.” 🎶❤️🎶

@@joycejean-baptiste4355 That is what one gets when history is rewritten. Wop is as much of an ethnic slur to Italians as Niqqer is to blacks, and just as reprehensible. By the way, KZbin made me censor the N word but not Wop. Duplicity at its finest.
@thomasgray8488 Жыл бұрын
Little bit of irony there, since Borgnine (born Ermes Effron Borgnino) was just as ethnically Italian as Sinatra; first generation American son of Italian immigrants. Yeah, I know his character here is an "All American" thug.

WOP: Acronym for "With Out Papers" Used during immigration processing at Ellis Island and other ports of immigration after WW2. Used for any immigrate, not just Italians. This sign was usually hung around your neck for quicker processing. There was NO negative connotation then, that developed later
