From High School Failure to Computer Scientist

I am medical student, but a month ago realize medicine is not for me, so I am learning computer science from CS50. I always motivate from seeing your videos about CS50.

You're not going to finish the MD? We have a student that came from medicine, they quit after year 2. They have no regrets, but the debt is absolutely brutal - their logic is that if they continued, they'd have even more debt and still end up in the same spot hating their job. I wanted to do an MD, but I think I'm doing my backup in CS...Hey, maybe you can program the next primary care GPT!

Hey kid, i failed PE in the 9th Grade and English in the 10th grade I had to get a Good Enough Diploma (GED) LOL too, now im also a computer scientist

I hear ya. I failed 10th grade, too. Changed schools and repeated that sophomore year. Funny, my computer course was where I did best, too, now that I think about it. I think your background makes this youtube channel special. Basically raw determination to pick yourself back up.

You can always put your degree on hold for extenuating circumstances! But it's never a bad time to do this course. I'm in a CS program and planning on using his learning path.

In Canada, our fail is 50 and below; yours is 70? Yeah, English/Spanish aren't real courses; if you can communicate (which you clearly can) and write/express ideas, that's all you need. I would say math/sci/CS are the most important courses. When I was a student teacher (both languages, math, science), I would always identify a student's strengths and encourage them. But that's because I'm a STEM guy, so we identify strengths/weaknesses and try to problem-solve. Of course, the system is too woke for me, so I didn't enter the field despite the training. We just had a principal commit suicide because he got cancelled by the woke mob for alleged racism (he just said Canada wasn't as racist as the USA, so they branded him a white supremacist). Our metrics and KPIs are falling, so the institution of education is just getting worse and worse. Anyway... Great videos; I like the roadmap to CS50. I'm doing a CS degree now. Check out WGU if you want a fast CS degree if you're American. People finish that within months.

Sir i have a small request , can u make a video on what to do after cs 50 introduction bc u know there r 30 plus videos of cs50 on edx now and its very confusing which course to view in which sequnce so that i can b on par with a harvard graduate for a software engineering job, means basocally which courses to do from wherefor which role in big tech bcz i m a non cs student and also if u can put light upon mit ocw that wud b great cuz they also have great lec so can u also tell the sequence in that cuz its very confusing

I'm not sure completing one online coding course makes you a computer scientist, even if it's from Harvard.
