That chicken run is amazing! My only worry is whether a predator like a weasle could climb the mesh and squeeze under the tarp, as the rest of the metal fencing is so big. Lights are definitely a good idea! My favourite detail in this video were the sound effects for the drone being kicked out of the hive, that was hilarious! 😂 See you next time and thank you for taking us along for your adventures!
@Robertkasela1993 Жыл бұрын
Yes true and fox can definitely dig under the mesh. This little pile of gravel is no match for hungry fox. I think there should still some kind of electrical fence surrounding the run. Otherwise, great work !

I’m confused why after digging that whole trench they didn’t line it with something to help prevent predators from digging underneath? Did they only dig the trench to put the poles down lower? I thought he said something about lining it but then they were filling it and it just looked like dirt.

Arielle (sp?) just blows me away with her skills. She drills, she shovels, she works concrete, she gardens, she makes various breads, she erects buildings, she cleans ptarmigans and moose, she tends bees without a suit, she's strong, she gives no quarter to difficulties! What a woman she is! And Eric might be an Operator but an operator without a highly skilled off-sider will only achieve a third what he (or they) could achieve otherwise. I think they're two peas in a pod.

Nicely build! Tip: foxes can dig much deeper than the border you made. A good way to keep them from digging under is to put it in 20 inches deep and than put a border of those concrete tiles around (about 15 à 16 inches wide) or other hard surface they can't get through. That's what they recommend over here to protect chicken coops because they can pull away the gravel.
