We pick up where we left you last episode. With more laminations to go, Tarkine starts to really look like a pilot cutter. Her bow now built up, fair and plumb, Matt makes the cutaway to really get her looking good.

I appreciate your use of a Lazer to gain your water line and your perpendicular. Far better fairing than an eye balling and chainsaw cut. Which I have seen done. The very best to you and yours. I watch because I believe your boat is a true sailors dream.

What a beautiful job that was, the carving is perfect! It’s interesting that you inlaid the fiberglass too, wow, I bet that was hard! Loved seeing the bottom, a lot of work left to do there, looks incredible though.

Hi you 3...🎐I want thank you deeply, for witnesing your build has created a valuable shift in my view of my camper truck Tug. Thru your passionate filming, thru your in depth clearly stated explanations of each process, a new level of understanding has bloomed in my own view of Tugs potential to come more alive. Infinate appreciation flung into the wind to your build shed..for now I have a fresher appreciation for work ahead🎉 much love

SOOOO!! ROMANTIC!! THE SHAPE, THE MUSIC, THE WOOD LAMINATIONS, THE HULL DIAGONAL LINES, THE DESCRIPTION OF THE LABOUR YOU PUT IN, and the vision it creates IN MY!! MIND out on the OCEAN looking like a GALLEON and you two (dressed like Vikings) at the helm in a Southern Ocean, like I have witnessed to and from Campbell Is NZ in 1975/76 A BLOODYMAZING.

Hi Marty! Thanks for the question, all timber used in our project has been Tasmanian timber so far. Also the stem is built out of Tasmanian hardwood. Eucalyptus.

Commercial name is Tasmanian Oak. It covers a number of similar tasmanian "gum trees" eucaliptus regnas, eucalyptus oblique etc. Also known locally as swamp gum, stringy bark, blue gum etc.

Hi guys!! Will you cover the stem with a stainless steel sheet down to the lead keel?? On my seven meter wooden double ender I have three mm stainless sheet, covering the keel plank to the stern, and it protect the wood, which is not so strong athwart, as lengthwise....It protrudes a couple of mm on each side too.... Very good job you are doing, allda bestest from mikke in sweden...;-D
