I trained with him for a year or so back in 2015/16 in St. David's. I've honestly never seen anything like him. Very talented and physically gifted but his insane drive and hunger was the most impressive. Some lads in sparring when they are at a higher level will just bully their partners and make it easy but won't work on their weaknesses; Gary did the opposite and would purposely find ways to make it harder for himself so the sparring would be more of a challenge. He was robbed in the Seniors in the National stadium when he was 20 or so and was overlooked for years. But I promise you, no one deserves this more than Gary ... he's done everything the hard way Doing Naas and Sarto proud 👍
