Jason Everman was a former guitarist for Nirvana who went through both the US Army Rangers and Special Forces selection process.
During his difficult childhood, Everman learned to play the guitar and later joined Nirvana as a second guitarist in 1989, but rarely got to play. After disputes with the band, he eventually joined Soundgarden, where he stayed for 5 years, replacing the bassist.
In 1994, Everman studied the renaissance icon Benvenuto Cellini, who said that a well-rounded man is an artist, warrior and philosopher. The next step after Everman's artistic career was to join the U.S. Army. He successfully went through the selection process of the internationally respected Army Rangers and later even Special Forces, with whom he deployed several times to Iraq and Afghanistan.
He served 12 years in the military, made trips to Tibet, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. When asked what his motivation in life is, Everman said, he wants to make as much as he can out of his limited time on earth.

Soundgarden is better than Nirvana any day of the week. Edit: Also Pearl Jam is the greatest grunge band of all time followed by Alice in Chains. Don't get me wrong. I love me some Audioslave, Stone Temple Pilots, Mad Season, Temple of the Dog, Bush, Melvins, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters and all the others but someone has to be number one and that someone for me is Pearl Jam -- followed very, VERY closely by Alice in Chains. For me Alice in Chains is the epitome of 90s grungy anger but Pearl Jam comes in with that stoner vibe which I just love. Now who the greatest stoner band of all time is I do not know. Maybe Kyuss? Maybe Sleep? That's one hard question. Edit 2: I read all 110 replies and I think this is a great thread. You all have wonderful opinions and a few of you make fantastic points for either side. Thank you for the read.

If you have a criminal record you wont get in to any modern western army or an Army that follows the western standard for recruitment. This Filipino guy probably got in under the radar unfortunately the US is now allowing people with pardons and minor criminal records to join the army which is not good spec ops are different. You guys are going downhill jsut like over here.
