Yes, Nathan is worth watching. Several of us have encouraged him to do turning blanks, but we still need to educate him a little more ( no piths please). 🤣 And the 10% is because when wood dries it rarely goes out of round more than that, and you will still have enough to work with if it really goes oval.

Absolutely! I sent him the link to the video but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. I hope he liked it... Hopefully he will see that getting rid of the pith in a bowl blank is just as important as in a slab of lumber. I'm not complaining, since I got a beautiful bowl out of it, but I know he likes to keep his customers happy. I can't wait to turn the 2 sycamore blanks I just got from him!

Hey Jim. Thanks for choosing me to win that beautiful bowl. I just loved watching you do it. I am subscribed to Nathan’s channel and watched him cut up that log and was thinking of ordering one piece of Ambrosia Maple? What a small world this you tube community is? You might also like to watch “Outdoors with the Morgan’s” ? I am subscribed to this channel also. That is where I learned about Nathan Elliot ‘s channel. I would love to come and pick up the bowl since I live in Mesa? Unless you feel better mailing it out. I would really love to meet you and discuss turning?

Neat video, quick question, you sealed the blank with Titebond 3? Or was something else in the bottom ?
@FRBPturning4 күн бұрын
@chippychippy8291 it was originally sealed before shipping with anchor seal. Then I sealed it with titebond3 after the first turning. I have had mixed results with anchor seal and I REALLY didn't want to lose that bowl to cracks so I thought the TB3 would help. I was very glad it did!
