Nothing wrong in hailing a state which has provided him the intelligence to achieve where he is today. And, indeed, I'm not a Tamilian, but would agree to what he said for Tamil Nadu. For his entire adulthood, he lived in a diaspora. Now that he's in front of his own people, let him speak his mind. Rather, I would request you to move from a cognitive bias (of nationalism), think with open mind & you'll also hail coimbatore, to be more precise
