Hi all! I am so excited to show you this product. JDiction contacted me to try their crafting material, and I honestly loved it. So I wanted to share the results of my little session. ResinCrete is super easy to use, eco-friendly, safe for kids over 13 years old, and cures in just 20-30 minutes. I had never tried this type of craft resin before, so it was all very new. But now I can't wait to add it to my customisation projects.

NOTE:
1. TO AVOID THE DANGER OF SUFFOCATION, PLEASE KEEP THE BAG AWAY FROM BABIES AND CHILDREN. DO NOT EAT POWDER.
2. IF YOU EAT POWDER, CONSULT A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
3. USE POWDER IN NORMAL TEMPERATURE.
4. KEEP POWDER IN A COOL DRY PLACE (HUMIDITY 30-60%).
5. KEEP AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNSHINE.
6. KEEP WELL SEALED TO PREVENT WATER EVAPORATION AND SKIN FORMING. THEY SHOULD BE STORED AT A CONSTANT TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 5°C-25 ℃ AND USED WITHIN 3 YEARS. FREEZING MUST BE AVOIDED.
Please strictly follow the above two ratios to deploy. If the proportion of water added exceeds the above instructions, it may lead to poor results for the finished product.
Special Note: lf the paint you are using is acrylic paint, you can add 1-2g more water. (Because acrylic paint is absorbent).

oh a korean DIY channel I watch has used something similar (jesmonite i think? youtube translation isnt the best lol) and she keeps all the extra chips and flakes and also breaks apart and failed projects and keeps all the chips in a box to use for a faux terrazzo look! that could be a fun thing to try in the future. She just puts the chips into the mold before it cures and then after its cured gives it a good sanding to reveal more of the chips.

The mica won’t show because it’s now covered in non transparent resin. Next time use a brush and just coat the mould with the mica, it will stick to the silicone, then pour the resin into the mould, it will adhere to the outside of the resin.

I get a monthly resin project box from a Korean company. A few months ago the box projects used resincrete, though I haven't tried it yet. It seems like a really awesome product! I'm not sure what the brand was though. The second mold is probably a flower not an amoeba, but I like the way you think! I imagine that you could use the segmented side of that mold to make a yellow center and different colored petals, then glue them together after they cure.

If you dust the inside of the mold with the mica powder, it adheres to the surface of the resin! This is a good way to get a sparkly finish.

I'm thinking about using this with earrings. Do you think it's durable enough for that? I wonder how it reacts if you coat it with actual resin to make it shiny. 🤔 Thank you for testing things for us! I hope you're doing well! 💜

You could dust the inside of the molds with your mica powder and then add the resin, it saves mixing just one colour. Also I also have an addiction to resin...
@RetroGeekCrafts

I actually tried this off-camera (well, on-camera but then deleted the footage). The result was shiny but quite uneven. There were gaps and some of the mica was comming off. I have to try it again, as I never used it and I think I'm doing something wrong. I need to reserarch :)

Oooh I think I'm going to have to try this product! For the mica powders, I wonder if it would work if you dust the mold first with it and then pour the liquid? Or dust the final product after it dries with the mica powder (but maybe it won't stick...) So many ideas and applications for it, thank you for sharing it with us :)

I wonder what the difference is between this and regular plaster for crafting. As someone who doesn't know much about it- I wonder if this is regular plaster but ground extra fine to allow for more details? (I'm pretty sure this isn't technically a resin? Idk tho.) I know this sounds cruel to our lovely ponies, but I would appreciate a stress test... Hitting it to see how easily it breaks and, when it dies, if it chips like you would expect plaster to. In any case, very cool, thanks for sharing!

What an interesting material! Weird question, but does it produce any smells as it cures? I have birds, and I’m always on the hunt for good, durable materials that don’t produce fumes that could hurt them. This seems very promising!
@RetroGeekCrafts
@RetroGeekCrafts 7 ай бұрын
No smells that I could tell, and no fumes! It also doesn't get hot (just a little warm but barely noticeable). I haven't tried the things I made with food, water, etc, but as long as they are not really thin, they look very durable.

Is this a good material for someone who is a complete beginner at these kinds of projects? I really like the look of these things. They almost look edible to me, they have great asmr potential too, and I love that. Could maybe be something I play around with with my mum who is going through some health issues atm and could really use cheering up.

Well, I am a 100% absolute beginner so I think so! As long as you are over 13 years old (they do look edible but please don't eat them!! They are also pretty to look at :)). I'm so sorry your mom is not well. I send you lots of love and hope things get better. Are you in the UK by any chance?

Isn't resincrete is just plaster? It's nice that they contacted you, but if it is just plaster, I wouldn't bother buying it myself from them, seems overpriced
@AnonymousWolfie
@AnonymousWolfie 7 ай бұрын
it’s actually not- it is a mixture of polymer resin and a “cementitious compound”, meaning it is similar to cement. although it might look similar to plaster, it is a different medium and more durable
@RetroGeekCrafts
@RetroGeekCrafts 7 ай бұрын
From what I could find, it's a polymer modified gypsum (like acrylic mixed with plaster). That's why it feels softer and more flexible. And it seems (from what I read) that it takes pigment much better than plaster, too.
@sava-smth
@sava-smth 7 ай бұрын
@@RetroGeekCraftsoh well then! Good if true; I've seen it being compared to hard plaster a lot and no conclusive answer as for contents of this thing makes me suspicious that it's just a gimmick product It has nothing to do with you or your review tho 🩵 you have a lovely channel

You have poor comprehension if you think any part of the title + thumbnail said she was going to be restoring a pony using the resincrete for the first time. You can also plainly see in all of the thumbnails on Retrogeek's videos that there is a blurred preview of what she is going to make, this one being no different.

Hi there! If you're talking about the "pony" in the title, this is because I used pony moulds. The video is also marked as sponsored and I explain this in the intro as well. I'm sorry you thought it was a restoration. I do a lot of them! But I also do customs and this is my first dedicated video. So I will keep this in mind for future collaborations :)

It doesn't say "restoration" in the title.. just "pony". Because she made a pony. Which you should have known if you bothered to watch the whole video.
