From Prison Cell to Business Success - Joe Kwon | I Catch Killers Convicted drug dealer Joe Kwon shared a prison cell with a billionaire accountant, who changed his life forever. In exchange for providing his protection, Joe’s new cellmate taught him about business and encouraged him to read. After being released, Joe went to university and set out on his own, working with some of the country’s leading companies and helping other ex-cons earn a second chance. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin True Crime Listen on Apple Podcasts ► Connect With True Crime Australia Online: bit.ly/46xCXDb ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Subscribe To Our True Crime Australia KZbin Channel: bit.ly/3iU23Fm ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Follow Us on Facebook: facebook.com/TrueCrimeAustralia ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00 - Introduction 02:45 - Business for good 06:37 - The start of ConFit 11:21 - Supporting kids in prison 17:20 - How to reduce recidivism 23:22 - Helping stop youth crime 27:30 - From prisoner to scholarship recipient 30:39 - Inside Scandinavian prisons 36:47 - Inside US prisons 41:29 - What is ReLove? 44:22 - Devils and angels #truecrime #truecrimeaustralia #crime #crimestory #crimejunkie

He’s calm, articulate, inspiring and not an ounce of arrogance about him. He’s even made me feel more positive and motivated!

Joe has so much to be proud of. Incredible U-turn. He's a keynote speaker at big corporate events, with massive companies funding his business. I'm sure he's not rolling in money but making a good wage, doing good stuff for people. What a legend.

What a wonderful episode! Thank you Gary and well done Joe. It's this kind of work that makes our society a better place to live. People need hope - need to know they can be accepted by society, in order to reform. Like was said, not everyone wants to change, but worth helping the ones that do 🙏🏻✨️

What a wonderful story, I feel proud of you, even though I don't know you. I literally got goosebumps over your story. I love the name of fitness business...! Brilliant. I've always believed that most recidivism in prisons, is due to not having the tools, knowledge, self belief and support. Discrimination is hard to fight out in society. We certainly could take a leaf out of Scandinavian prison system, compared to the USA's prison/judicial system which is seriously disgraceful, over crowded, discrimination is rife, any hope is demolished, after all some states still have the Death sentence.. Rikers Island is the worst of the worst. All the best in your journey of life Joe.🥰😇

Yep. Keep Government funding out if u can. Sooner or later they will want a say in what u do. Yep. My experience and observations with male youth especially is the only men that speak half decently to them is the Police and Security . Bad attention is Good attention even through the teen years.

Inspirational story. Hopefully the young people doing time get a chance to see it. Joe will certainly change more than one life through his efforts. Former boxer Nader Hamden is doing similar work in youth centres these days too. Might be a good interview for another day.
