I love them both, but something about the Peacock Parure stands out. Perhaps it is the tail of the peacock, at the center of the necklace…with the stunning ruby drops. Then again, the diamond topped spray in the center of the tiara stands out. When worn simply as just the detached center section of the tiara, it highlights the wearer’s face in the most exquisite way. Another great ‘Journey’!

The Dutch do have some amazing Tiaras ! The Mellerio is very striking BUT I see... either Christmas Tree Garlands or Corral Fences and Fence posts; No Question about the quality of the diamonds though. The rest of the Parure are Jaw droppingly good. That "Stomacher" changes every time you show it us...Its amazing. The Peacock Tiara is sooo beautiful except for the "Peacock Motive" Change that Out and you have a stunning, classy, and very Beautiful Tiara, Alas the center piece looks like it was an afterthought... Added to fill a hole. Sorry I know ill get hate mail BUT I will say...Like Most Tiara's I suspect when you see it head on...Its...Stunning.

I read recently that Princess Irene sold the peacock parure to Queen Beatrix some time before Queen Beatrix’ abdication.

I prefer the first diadem and was not found of the pecockversion. I think ruby where to prefer to safires in the diadem and parure in all. I guess the Dutch Colonies payes for the jewelry. Since the crown got money from Colonial directly. But that We seldom talk about.
