The new ability and/or concept you have now having the ability to talk and basically interview the locals is a great addition to your videos Brian. Thank you.

The holy trinity in CO/UT is Durango, GJ/Fruita, and then Moab. I recommend that order to get used to the altitude if you are a flat lander. By the time you get to Moab, you are a monster. This is a nice XC trail. A daily driver kind of trail that never gets old.

That was awesome thank you for sharing. Since I just started hanging up Bentonville like 3 to 4 years ago I figured they just had a sudden burst of trail building within the last six maybe seven years I had no clue about the history of the area as it relates to MTB. That dude's got himself to life run the business building the trails then open up a watering hole and maintenance show up with some retail too right by all the trails you just built, brilliant symbiotic business model where the two feed off each other. I have noticed though that no big frame manufacturer or components manufacturer has really dug their heels in Bentonville and made it their home. I think something like that would really benefit the local scene like deity has to Boise and like transition kona and evil do to Bellingham. A company like that in Bentonville could sponsor races organize trail maintenance volunteer days and group rides even have some employees work as part-time trail guides for out-of-towners who are visiting to ride.

So Glad that you were able to get a legitimate sampling, looks like you had a bunch of us homies show you the ropes, and Drew from Rev-Repair is just a super stand-up guy, was fun to see all the trail systems we ride and race enduro presented so nicely. My wife and I used to ride a lot of the same trails in NorCal as you, she retired from the military and we decided to put down roots here, no regrets...this place and the people are legit...Gnarkansas! A bit different from the Bay Area...once in a while we do miss Downieville! Cheers!

Love your vids. Hate to see you leave NW AR. You really made the area seem even more appealing. On your way out of AR, check out Shepard Mountain Bike Park in Ironton, MO. It's fairly new and very raw and chunky. Also, some great relaxing places near the bike park like Johnson Shut Ins, Elephant Rock, Taum Sauk Falls, Jacks Fork River, Echo Bluff, all the Natural Springs, and more. Google it all- it's super nice and some of the clearest rivers in the state. You deserve a little downtime :)

I prefer drovers to herd cattle on trails in Arkansas. In my past Arkansas visits I discovered and explored where none of our species had trod. By locating and tool excavation of an entry buried by the previous Ice Age. Which I continue to do elsewhere when not off-road on my Suzuki DR-650.

Gotta tell you, everytime you release a video from Arkansas it's creating conflict for me. I was all set for my summer trip to go to Asheville this year, but Arkansas looks wayy better. I'm kind of turned off by all the climbing and hike a bike in Pisgah. I think it's going to be brutal in the summer heat. On the other hand, Bentonville just looks like singletrack heaven, where I can ride everyday without needing recovery days in-between riding days. Only problem is Bentonville is a much longer drive for me.

Summer is not the best time to ride in AR. The heat and humidity make it rough although many people can tolerate it better then me.

When you mentioned how much golf courses costs to do versus trail system I thought about the fact that golf courses have fee to use them but using mountain bike trails is free. There should be some kind of financial system to get more money coming into these organizations who make these trails.

I have been hearing that they are planning on installing trail donation stations at trailheads all around Arkansas. From what I have been told, they will have a data matrix on the sign that you can scan and send a donation for trail maintenance. That's a good start.
@DavidGodwin3 жыл бұрын
@@TheAngryHusky luvtrails.com/ is what several clubs, including the OORC are using to help generate donations from riders. It syncs with Strava, and alerts you to make a donation to the supporting organization based in how many miles of trails you rode that they are responsible for.
