In the books she was just a small side character but because the actress had "Chemistry with literally everyone" they boosted her role. And this smiley guy deserves every attention he gets! It's not that Jamie's smile is creepy, it's just more obvious due to his nice cheekbones, therefore more contradictory when playing a monster. So when it's a real smile off camera, it's an extra obvious smile, easy to see due to his great cheekbones, & when he's acting, the obviousness of his smile (cheekbones raised are easy to see) makes the *contradiction of smiling and scaring someone more prevalent* than it would with others who have a less noticeable smile.

Which Jamie McGuire aka "Smiley could show up as he did in many hallucinations, so even if "dead" our favorite smiles could still be around. Although based on the episode descriptions, I think the characters over confidence is going to screw them, as they invited and carried the thing inside a building with Talisman, therefore perhaps trapping it in there as it can't cross the barrier ether way and maybe like vampires can't enter unless invited in with that enclosed talisman space ...

I think the creatures are all pretty much two-dimensional "scary monsters" and that as episodes progress further the really intriguing baddies will come into play. And if all these things were ever meant to do was shamble around and occasionally gut people, then naturally when it's time for a big scene with one of *them* finally feeling some hurt, you want to use the one that everyone has been the most interested in.

@@kenlieck7756 they wouldn't kill off a fan favorite, FROM wouldn't likely burn a character for shock value yet(likely coming but not yet), as the series have invested a lot of screen time into making him seen as a "popular" monster. Plenty of other "monsters" that could have been set up, but Jamie McGuire has made a good connection to the fanbase. So I don't see that the series would through away a good monster that have taking very limited screen time, with lots of unnecessary screen time, to show him like playing on the bus, if it wasn't to shown more about him and his monster's personality. As I think each one has bit of their old personality and remembrance of being alive, hence while they seem to have props or items they keep with them, why would milkman monster still be carry milk for 50-ish years, especially when no one is drinking monster milk... Who knows maybe both are teams in the video game theory, and only see the other side as monsters, as that what they appear as due to whatever manipulation. Maybe when attracting "Smiles" was just pressing "F" for player who died on his screen. While opposing team saw their player get ripped to shreds. Because streaming studios suck for the Fan Base unless it is show like "Frequency" where they came back made a 3-5 minute epilogue for the fans, as season ended on cliffhanger. Or "Timeless" where we got the "Christmas Special" episode where they wrapped loose ends change time and set into the motions of the very things that set the whole series into play. Flynn you got to see your family one last time.. Big Pressing F for the hero that wasn't known until the end.
