From Salt Mine to Subterranean Theme Park

Four hundred feet below the Romanian countryside lies a subterranean amusement park nestled in one of the oldest salt mines in the world. Believed to be nearly 2,000 years old, Salina Turda excavated over 3 billion tons of salt before mining stopped in 1932. Since then, the underground hub has lived many lives, serving as everything from a cheese storage facility to a bomb shelter. Now, it lives on as an underground theme park, equipped with an amphitheater, Ferris wheel, mini golf course, and a lake complete with rowboats. Come along and explore one of the most beautiful places in the world at this subterranean wonderland.

I was there like 3 weeks ago. In the time that we travelled across the town to famous destinations we got a hotel next to it,we goed there often.We staid there for like 3 days only because we had to stay at another hotel.A ROOM EVEN HAD A SPIRAL STAIRCASE SOO COOL.But yea.Cool.

I was there in 2014. The steps down are coated in salt and slippery as hell so I'd recommend the elevator. The row boats are a fun time though

I've been here before it is quite the experience. It is more like a park however than a theme park. Many people just picnic and relax. This is because they believe the salinated air opens up your lungs, strengthens the immune system, and increases blood flow. Both of my grandparents have been going for years and they are about 85 and 73 years old.
