I just recently created my fist Canvas scan and it worked perfectly. I highly encourage others to give it a try. Thanks for your video and for Condocs.

Have you tried hover app. Hover app does interior and exterior scans with cell phone. No lidar necessary. I'm currently implementing it in my work flow. I appreciate all the videos and informative content you produce. Cheers.

Hey thanks! Haven't actually used Hover on a project yet... Wondering how the accuracy and cost stacks up. I think it would be great for quick context models, like if you are a pool designer and need the actual house modeled light and accurate. Do you think their output could be trusted for drawings?

Great video, thanks, did you scan the externals with canvas too? I am still road testing canvas, the app process is great and accuracy very good and close to my old fashion (current) survey method with an iPad and Leica laser measurer. The accuracy of the door reveals and openings I find the weak point, but could be my scanning method. I need to test a few more.

Thanks! I didn't scan the outside, haven't tried that yet. I just assume I will need to add the detail so why bother paying. Let me know how it goes for you. Canvas has saved me a ton of time, definitely worth it!

How good is this for 3D Printing?

I just took a quick look at the scan to CAD .skp. I appears that the walls are "solid", or very easily converted to solids. Windows, doors, and details would likely give you trouble... But I think you could get a slick little design model without any cleanup.

How accurate is the app.

I've found it to be extremely accurate, exactly what I need for my renovation projects. I did go back and field verify some dimensions off a scan and was amazed. In general all the overall room dimensions were within an inch (note: this was using their old hardware too). The most important thing is that the plan "closed", in other words I didn't draft from one corner of the house to the other and end up with a 2' discrepancy. I always drop a tape on critical dimensions and you can even provide those on upload. 100% satisfied with the accuracy of Canvas. Unfortunately no love for Android... But I did hear an explanation that makes sense. While Android is awesome because it is open source, it's difficult (impossible?) to calibrate for scanning on all these devices. Also, most android phones don't have the lidar scanner, and it would even appear that they are moving away from this technology. So in the end, I purchased a brand new ipad that really only gets used for scanning with Canvas. Doodling with ProCreate is cool too...
