It's awesome to see him build such bad ass projects in this small space with limited resources. None of that slows down a true fabricator,they just let the genius flow. Imagine the stuff that he'd be cranking out if he had a bigger garage,access to more tools and a little bit better budget.
@stephenbass374 жыл бұрын
I think the coolest part is how precise he is with such simple tools. You don't need fancy tools to build good stuff, but fuck if it doesnt help if you can do dead-on edges and holes 1st time every time
@FloridaMan05614 жыл бұрын
Stephen Bass Might not need fancy tools but,damn,a bigger work space wouldn't hurt.

With all the janky stuff Hoonigan used to do, they desperately needed guys like you and Dan to keep things on the level. The level of fab you can do in your own garage with hardly any special tools and a little ingenuity is insane. Keep it up!

Pro tip: aluminum can be worked like wood. Jigsaw, miter saw, etc all work great on it even with wood cutting blades (they make non-ferrous blades too that work better). Don't use abrasive discs like you would for steel.
@krunkyae4 жыл бұрын
someusername121 was literally just gonna drop a comment asking this very question. Thanks bro!
@mattlessard49734 жыл бұрын
I work with aluminum everyday. I use a die grinder and sanding disc on it all the time. What kind of abrasive discs are you talking about?
@aserta4 жыл бұрын
An easy way to cut aluminium at home is to get a jigsaw, drill four holes in the platen, thread them, and then mount the jigsaw through a hole on to a table/plate/mini bench, what have you (just give it enough space to breathe) and once that's that, aluminium saw blade and patience. I'd also get a high grade bolt, nut, or a piece of hardened steel and by way of making a small hole behind the blade (where it touches the table top) glue that piece in. Idea being that you deactivate the back and forth motion of the jigsaw (if you have that feature) and use the hardened metal to press against with the blade as you cut. Excellent for all kinds of stuff, not just aluminium. I'd recommend a DeWilt,the one with the forward latch type release, if nothing else for ease of use.
