Another really good tute, @Osarus. 👍 A handy guide especially for those new / new-ish to Stationeers -> E.g.: pointing out the LED display Modes and what they do, plus demonstrating the power consumption of IC10 vs each discrete logic device.

Thanks, i always try to make something that is good to learn for new and beginner of the game, this i belive could help make the game more popular

Going one very small step further, for the cost of a few extra lines of code per display, you can have the IC10 turn off each display if whatever number it's reading is in a "normal" state, and only turn them on if the numbers are too high or too low. Reduces display power to 0 if everything is fine, and if you walk by and see numbers on a screen that should be blank, you know you've got something to look into.

That is true, you could do this, i just personally just want to have them on all the time when i am near them. but ofcause the power saving could be a factor

honestly since the update that made batch commands more powerful I never used any logic chips again, everything is IC10... I kind of wish there was some in-between solution for progression and IC10s being unlocked a bit later (you can really rush them pretty easily on any start)

We agree that you can't do much in terms of logic before a IC is the only logical way forward, in terms of ease of use and wall space and powe consumption. In my more permanently setups it is always a IC10 i go with

I kind of wish RW would implement some sort of breadboard that would allow for multiple logic chip configurations to be easily moved and duplicated.

That's a pretty cool idea. But ... There's still the issue of space - Unless RW introduced a device with IC10 footprint and called it a "PAL" or "PLA" or "ULA" where you can "print" a "blueprinted" discrete logic circuit and its wiring and settings. I think the blueprinting feature would end up pretty wonky, or else quite limited. - Note this device wouldn't _really_ be a PAL / PLA / ULA like you'd find in real life. - FWIW, if it gets to this, you may as well just use an IC10. Once you get past four discrete logic devices: - you're at or _beyond_ the power consumption of an IC10 - the materials cost to build exceeds that of an IC10 and a socket

@@baronvonschnellenstein2811 I would envision that the "breadboard" would have several screws similar to the ICy10 that you connect to devices. Then the internal chips would reference the screws via a grid interface similar to the computers, where you could load, save and edit the configuration. Material costs and power consumption are already a problem for logic chips in the current build; ICy10s are far superior to logic chips, so apart from some small configurations, most of the logic chips are virtually useless.

@@ToadRoach the main use-case for logic chips right now is basically "i don't want to mess with code"... but that's a perfectly valid use-case, and it applies to rather a lot of people. chip logic is incredibly useful for the players who look at code and scream internally.

@@DaemonworksWould also be nice to get an Arduino-sized solution for logic chips, rather than having to rely on old ENIACs.

@@ToadRoach agreed. but clunky and awkward is kinda their whole design intent, so... just gotta dream, i suppose.

Very cool content, please keep it comming! Too bad Stationeers is not that popular, such an interesting game.

Thanks alot :) i do agree that Stationeers is a very interesting game, but also very unusual in the way it control, so this could be a reason why it is not so popular

@@osarus_TV i kinda prefer alt+dragging compared to "press button to open inventory / do stuff / press button to close inventory" systems.

I honestly do a bit of both. opening and closing is with keys, and i use the close all alot as it is just easier
