I saw the New York red and white quilt show on television 8n 2011. I am sure it was one of the seven wonders of the world. When zi finish making queen sized quilts fir each of my five sisters and all fifteen of my grand children I plan to make red and white quilts for myself. 5gat show left such an impression on me I can't stop thinking about it. Thank you for the beautiful quilt show. My sister gave me before she died a red and green log cabin quilt that is one of the most beautiful quilts I have ever seen. She did not give it to her children because it did not fit their color schemes, i really feel blessed, and my daughter gave me that is wonderful, so I guess it is time I got back to quilting.

Well the green and red goose quilt threw me completely. Completely into a deep dive for the pattern. And how to do paper piecing in a way that does not explode my brain. Because this is just too cool of a quilt for me not to try it over the next year with all my little bits. I think your gradual construction is the key to your success with your scrappy magic. On your small scrap pieced blocks, do you machine or hand piece? Thank you so much for the show! Cannot pick a favorite! Your narratives are wonderful! And the intro and closing photos and music are very enjoyable 😊

For me, it just works to deal with my scraps as the boxes fill up; that way there's always something to start with, or something to add as a border or a back. I think using them as they build up means that there is a great variety of fabrics, and then none of them stick out too badly against the others. I machine piece pretty much everything; if it's crumb piecing/foundation paper piecing, I have done it on my machine.
