Your home is artistic. Considering the material and amount of firewood and the fact that it burns better due to the chimney effect, it takes up to 3 hours for the firewood to burn out. Wouldn't the inside of the underground log cabin, which was warm in the winter cold, quickly become cold after the firewood is burned out? ? the chimney is built with stones instead of just dirt, the stones retain the heat, so the heating will last longer. However, I think it would have been better if it had been built with a heating method called Ondol. In other words, it would have been best to dig out the bottom of the sleeping area, build a passage with thick stones, cover it with flat stones, and point the hole in the chimney towards the exit where the door is, instead of straightening the chimney vertically outward. . Flat covering stones can be covered with red clay clay to prevent smoke from escaping. In this method, the hot heat generated when firewood burns is not released directly to the outside. As the heat passes through the bed stones, it heats them. When the smoke goes out toward the exit, the stones become hot. It will hold off the heat for a long time, so the heating will last for a long time. I'm mentioning this because it's a task that requires a little bit of time from your construction work.

The one thing I will never understand about all of these types of videos is that not one overlaps wall boards or roof boards in a downward fashion like you would lay down shingles on a conventional roof. Doing so leaves no gaps between the boards and rain water would flow downwards over the boards without the need of laying a tarp over the top. A simple 1 inch overlap will close in the gaps and allow water to flow downwards and off the structure instead of seeping through the gaps. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching them I just find it odd that no-one does it.

So for your roof, i would try liquid nail to seal up gaps, then melt beeswax and coat the top surface, followed by a few rolls of that orange colored rolls of flooring fabric, and also coat that with melted beeswax and then start putting surrounding natural materials on top of all that. Maybe that can fail, but what if it doesn't

Dependent on how dry you can keep the earth surrounding the walls, and whether or not you have a moisture barrier if you can't. Doing things like extending your roof cover ie, 10ft×18ft internally, but has a waterproof tarp 20ft×28ft covering the roof, and 3 sides out by 5ft from internals. Then make drainage from you roof, helps keep ground dry, and if done right is emergency water supply.

Here in the U.S. I would like to know where I could go to build a Dugout Shelter, on a piece of property, that I do not own. Whether it is the Federal, State, or County, or City governments allowing me to build without Code approved structures. Most of these Shelters I assume are abandoned shortly after being built; however I do Love to watch these Folks build them! Go for it!

Oh pls ugh there's always that one guy who has to complain about everything. If u want that then look up ppl who fully live off the land. These videos are just for the housing aspect of it all. Which most ppl find very interesting. At the end of the day. If ur that serious then look up living off the land 🙄, these ppl ain't actually out there living for the most part, so who cares if they have grocery bought food. 🙄Ur just nit picking and complaining. Iv also watched plenty of videos where they do fully live off land. It's all about what u look up. Just because the title is bushcraft doesn't necessarily mean fully off the land. Just enjoy the video for what it is like all the rest of us. My god.
