From stripes to wings

1st Lt. Steven Rappuhn, 434th Flying Training Squadron instructor pilot, tells us about what it was like for him to go from prior enlisted to pilot and the journey he went on to get where he is today at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas Jun. 22, 2021. Rappuhn talks about his time as enlisted and his challenges while going through pilot training and how to handle training, personal time and work life while making the transition. Served with 1LT Charlie Curreri in the 86th Flying Training Squadron as T-38A instructors in the 86th Flying Training Squadron 1984-87. Charlie went on to a F-16 assignment, retired and is currently an American Airlines Captain. A good dude.
