The worst part of her constant complaining about her 'homelessness' was that she actually chose to be, and was doing the van life. As someone who has actually been homeless multiple times both as a child and teen on my own, it's so aggravating to see her try to leverage that any time it suits her
@brendaleelydon2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be as bothered, if she mentioned she had chosen being homeless/vanlife when she complained, because choices you made can still suck. You choose to go to school & be a podiatrist, but some days if you look at (and smell) one more out-of-control athlete's foot infection you stfg you're gonna run screaming from the office never to return, you know? (this is also an issue I have when someone who works in the 'adult industry' complains about a cruddy day at work & people try to use that against them as to why they shouldn't be in that field - everyone has bad days at work or gets annoyed by the monotony; that doesn't mean they need to change direction. but I digress...) I've been both homeless by choice & homeless...not by my choice. While the former didn't make me feel quite as directionless & hopeless as the latter, it still kinda sucked a LOT, and it was also hard to get out of once I was ready. I do believe that in some ways, Shannon is a victim of Anthony (which in no way excuses HER OWN vile, immoral & possibly illegal behaviors), & suspect she wasn't *QUITE* as gung-ho about vanlife as he was, but feared she'd lose him if she didn't agree. I also suspect she thought they wouldn't be living that nomad life for as long as they did. So while I wouldn't begrudge her a whinging regarding being homeless here & there, being disingenuous about it for added sympathy/clout/'interest' is was REALLY irked me. (& she definitely was disingenuous, because even though she mentioned she consciously chose the life...it was waaaay back the 1st and/or 2nd time she spoke on the topic & then never really mentioned it again, even after she had a significantly larger following & *knew* dang well and good that the majority of her audience didn't know the circumstances. But she always had those initial, years-old videos that she could fall back on. "SEE? I never hid the fact that were #VanLife - look at this old AF video!" Which is exactly what she did on the rare occasions she was called out about it.) I'm sorry you had to experience it, especially as a child. People have *NO* idea how badly 'home insecurity' can mess you up. Rent is ALWAYS the 1st bill I pay, because I'd like my kid to avoid that feeling & I am so blessed to be in a subsidized apartment, or it would be an even bigger struggle & thus constant source of anxiety for me. No one in a civilized society should have to live with that level of anxiety over housing & it's kinda disgusting that so many of us do in the name of the almighty dollar. 😔
@user-jd8nn2lq5e2 жыл бұрын
@V. S. Werejester I'd agree if it wasn't something she said multiple times they chose to do, since parents kicking you out doesn't mean you're automatically homeless either It also iirc(so I may misremeber but I'm pretty sure) they had somewhere to stay outside of her parents but they chose to live in their car because vanlife was big then and they specifically wanted to maximize their money saving for their move

So insane that Shannon probably tried so hard at KZbin JUST to create another way of ruining something Emily loved. Emily was gaining a following and was improving from her commitment to it and Shannon couldn't STAND that she had something good for herself. So she built the CSA channel with the firm goal of doing whatever it took to rise above Emily, even if it shunned her audience. I firmly believe Emily was right when she said she had the feeling Shannon was going to use the "Amy hacked me" story to finally "open up" about how it was EMILY who was Amy all along, and with her following and the breadcrumbs she left behind she would have created a far different scenario where the people would've been more divided in their belief. The lolcow accusations just flipped the table on all her plans, but the amount of premeditated planning Shannon made all to make Emily suffer... absolutely terrifying.

My personal theory is this: Anthony was clearly more into stalking Emily than being with Shannon, so she joined him in this act because it gave them something to connect over, and projected her insecurities and rage of Anthony's desire for Emily over her onto Emily instead of facing the prospect of breaking up with Anthony. It probably became an "If we can get rid of Emily, Anthony will finally want me!" situation, and attacking Emily became her source of hope until it all fell apart with both Emily's threats of getting the police involved and her reputation being destroyed online. Edit: So it turns out that's Emily's theory too

@katzcat81812 жыл бұрын
The scary part is that lie she opens up with, because it shows us (in my opinion) that she was never trying to defend herself; we were 'supposed' to see the video if she either took Emily to court...or if her legal team made Emily retract her statements- girl made this video expecting Emily to erase everything bad about Shannon, make people doubt her story, and then release a video that would finish off Emily's character so that nothing she would ever say would be credible again. Hell, if things had gone her way, I honestly think we would have later seen a video of how Emily is actually Amy, just so Shannon could bury completely that skeleton in her closet for good. Think about it; if Emily had taken back her statements, it would be very shady to start with and make people doubt her, and with Shannon's video, then I don't doubt some people who have seen Emily as a manipulate and bad person.

It takes time, multiple steps and decisive actions to find a downloadable version of her picture, download it and upload it and then be as uncreative as to name the account "Stan Creepshow Art". Not once did you stop to think of anything creative or to separate yourself from Shannon and not once did you wonder "should I download and reupload someone else's childhood photo for no reason". Like, Shanon doesn’t really deny that Anthony didn’t sleep with Emily, only that Emily’s claim that she was high and thus Anthony forced herself was a lie because Anthony hates drug users. Okay. Then he forced himself on her when she was NOT high. She still didn’t give consent. Thus, he still R-worded her. Like??? Did she not notice what a faulty argument she was making?? I still believe that Shannon will defend Anthony and keep him around because Anthony is Emily's ex lover and it's a weird power for Shannon to have him in her life and away/outside of Emily's grasp (even tho I'm sure Emily wants nothing to do with that man, Shannon probably doesnt see it that way- if Shannon can stalk a woman for 8+ years it's not such a farfetched assumption). Shannon and Anthony are cut from the same cloth, I feel. They are probably each others best hype man and enabler. Edit: She was also 'homeless' by choice aka "car life / van life" . In a lot of her videos she flip-flopped between being homeless by choice to be able to afford certain luxuries, to her being homeless by terrible means- whatever fit her narrative at that moment. It's kind of insulting to those who have actually lived a homeless lifestyle with little to no real choice in the matter.

I mean, who do you think is egging her on to stalk emily? notice how shannon went after tipster specifically and he was the only person to confront anthony/andrew on his youtube channel. Shannon also spends a good chunk of time in the video trying to discredit Emily's story about Anthony SA'ing her. She doesn't even care to defend herself from the lolcow shit (which, is likely more financially important given her youtube popularity and its not like either of them have real jobs). Like seriously doubt Shannon would give a fuck about Emily if Anthony/Andrew didn't tell her all this bullshit about her and pitted Shannon against her from the beginning of their relationship. Dude gives me U IN DANGER GIRL vibes.

@@omgkthxbi YUUUUUUP. Also, it's interesting how we're supposed to see Emily's recollections as unreliable, but ANTHONY'S telling of the events to Shannon is absolute gospel T-R-U-T-H & could in NO manner be told in a self-serving way or even be outright lies. Additionally, Shannon straight up LIES when she complains that everyone was lazy & couldn't even be bothered to just scroll down a bit for the PROOF Emily just left right out in the open, omg! My dudes, she totally posted herself singing a song about being clean for X years & that would mean she was clean during the time she's claiming Anthony attacked her! I'll accept my apology now, my dudes. Except...the date on the video was off by a year. And Shannon *clearly* knew this, which is why she kept talking about the MONTHS involved vs the YEARS, hoping you'd get hung up on that & not look at the actual full date that SHANNON even posted herself, discrediting her OWN narrative. (Sorry, I know this is a bit convoluted, because I don't remember the *exact* dates in question, so I don't wanna say & be wrong. I did the math back then, though & I even think Emily addressed it in one of her videos on the topic, I think the second one.) I hope Shannon gets away from her current toxic situation & can get the help she'll need. However, it'll take a TON of work on her part & I'm not sure she's up for it. Hopefully she at least stops going out of her way to be so spitefully hurtful to others. 🤷🏻♀️

Really bothered me how she complained she was homeless when it was by choice and that she had months to prepare. Most people living out of their cars don’t have time to plan for it. And I know a lot of people feel bad for Shannon but she’s definitely not normal like you said. This entire thing started because she decided to dox her sibling. Like… who does that?
@ange41542 жыл бұрын
Judging from what she's admitted to about her home and early life, you can tell she grew up bitter, victimized, and insecure. She said she used to be bullied and neglected and her parents did... a lot. I'm sure once a man came along that liked her back and she found out he had a pretty ex girlfriend who probably looked more confident than Shannon felt at the time, she wanted to make sure there was no way he'd go back to her because in her mind she won against a girl that she felt inferior to.

@@nootnewt9323 I don't think she really understood how tough 'van life' can be (esp when it's complicated by living out of 2 cars vs 1 van); whether because *she* romanticized it or *HE* talked it up to her & minimized the downsides, we'll likely never know. The fact that she was lucky enough to have time to preplan & had a partner (& had the space of 2 cars to live out of) when embarking on her van life journey, doesn't mean there weren't times it sucked big donkey balls, or that there weren't times she was in fear and/or worried about her safety or bodily autonomy. Choices we make in life can still suck, or affect our lives in a negative way, and I wouldn't begrudge her having a bitchfest about it now & then. HOWEVER, it *IS* disgusting to mislead your viewers into thinking you had no choice in the matter, for pity points or to make your story feel more gritty or like a bigger underdog tale or whatever she was going for. While she'll say she never hid it from her viewers (since she mentioned it specifically once or twice in her earlier videos), she also never went out of her way to inform her ever-growing (well, it was back then) audience that it was a choice she made. Shannon knew damn well & good that the vast majority of her audience didn't know she'd made a choice & she absolutely had no qualms about letting people continue to think she'd had some horrible situation precede her start at van life. And *that* I find completely disingenuous & thoroughly disgusting.

I still keep in contact with one but not the other. It doesn't add much to the overall narrative but having a lack of emotional empathy can affect how you behave and act. As a former fan of Shannon this entire thing vexes me greatly, and it's affected how I process information within the commentary community. All the threats of suicide, of hurting me, of leaking sensitive videos and photos (which did happen and I have no idea to what extent because it was dmed to people I dont know) and etc. The girlfriend is being abused, physically an emotionally, but she defends him under the guise of him being diagnosed as mentally disabled and not knowing better, but he told me and all his (now former) friends he has never seen a medical professional because he feels there is nothing wrong with him. Also she told me he would stare at my social media accounts on alts all day to see if I would talk about him and his former friends would DM me saying he thought I was "speaking" to him through my posts somehow and that he was telling people we were friends and made it seem like we have a romantic relation despite not having spoke to him in several months at that point at all and him dating this girl. What she's done and defended of him has no excuse, but I can relate to Emily in a part of me feeling bad for my own stalker and what she's going through in secret despite the emotional distress she caused me. In the end though, there isn't an excuse for abuse. I am just glad that seemingly for me it's now over. I don't even think about him much anymore and I don't feel paranoid of who I talk to online as severely as I did before when this started. I still feel that anxiety of being watched but I don't let him have that power over me anymore. To any other victims of abuse just know you are totally not alone and the truth always comes out, they can't keep up lies forever. I had a bad home life and it lead me to even worse relationships as a teen, my life is much better now after more therapy and respecting myself. Get away and speak up, it WILL get better.

Also, her self deprecation seemed like a guise to seek validation. Reading her comments sections were always full of praise when she did this. Her personality seemed a farce suddenly. Her vocabulary started annoying me too, so I unsubscribed. Only for May-June 2021 to happen and OMG I ate that shit up. To have that icky feeling she gave me justified. I’m not the only one. There are many many others who saw through her before her downfall. I ain’t no genius. Perhaps it’s because we’ve known people like her in the past/have been hurt by them, and now have a sixth sense. She hurt them and it was sad that I wasn't even surprised that she had. Then Emily and her jaw-dropping story was shared and that broke my heart for Emily. It seemed like Shannon couldn't enjoy and appreciate what she had because she was so scandalous, that she assumed everyone else was too. She had everything going for her and she tore it down.

But no. It's been 12 years since they stopped that nonsense in OR, and they were together in CA for a while before they took off for points north. However, she mentions in a more recent video having been in her apartment for a couple years, so there's really no way she could've been homeless in OR before the law changed. Even giving consideration to the idea that perhaps some companies still used the old system for a while after it changed...I can't imagine that 5+ years later it would've still been going on and unchallenged by SOMEONE. All that said, I can't actually find anything online saying either way if Portland does or does not charge people to apply for a job, only that they changed the law & now employers can't ask you about your criminal background until after they've interviewed you. @@meggy0 For some reason, that part didn't show up when I first watched the video? (Might've been because of Vanced). Considering how public Shannon's sibling is about using they/them pronouns, it feels odd that he still misgenders them (even unintentionally). Edit: 1:14:36 omg that's my Google Drive

@@wammawink He might have been unaware of their pronouns as a majority of his knowledge of Shannon seems to be around her drama videos and not so much her personal life.

@@tatertot7112 Shannon misgenders her sibling a lot so I don't necessarily blame him for not knowing. Idk how much he read of the Drive folder-he could have just been looking for stuff about Emily. He issued a correction five days ago, though it might be hard to find since it isn't a pinned comment.

My favorite dumbass thing Shannon did was say Amy was an alias for her stalker but an email she showed as “proof” that her stalker existed was signed “-Amy” 💀

I'm I the only one who feels like Shannon's art reflects her own damn personality? I can't specifically pin point it, but it's there visually.

That Tumblr video that Creepshow decided to keep as her first video is weird in itself. With everything established up until this point, the video comes off as "I made up a story about Tumblr because to many people, Tumblr and social justice have a bad reputation. Give me views." She gives no reciepts whatsoever, not even showing the art in question. This "Natalie" person she says is her closest friend and knows all her evil acts (Creepshow's words, not mine) has not shown up. Even after all this has come out and even Creepshow's classmates and SIBLING have spoken out. Even back when that video released, a newcomer would've looked at this situation and went "Guess I have to take you at your word. Because there's nothing else to go on and some people in tumblr are questionable." And then y'know, what really makes it seem less genuine is that almost 2 years later Creepshow did the exact same thing she accused other tumblr users of. Going from her first video to her most popular video is a real tone shift on multiple fronts. She sure has screenshots this time and a lot to say about them. Names attached and everything. Because it's not about her I guess so she just did whatever. Weird how "Natalie" didn't have a comment this time. Maybe she could've had some insight being so damn close to Creepshow, being mentioned in the original tumblr video, and being the demographic affected in both instances. But the point is, Creepshow's inconsistent on many fronts.

Natalie will never come forward, because Creepfart lied about her too, if she even exists. There is another video of hers where she describes Natalie as a girl from her school that hated her, but didn't really interact with shannon either.

I followed Emily for ages, long before the CSA stuff. Always seemed like a down to earth person from her videos, open about her mistakes and growth. I'm also an addict in recovery, and Emily was open about her past so I really admired her (and still do). Shannon on the other hand was so fake. Talked like a meme machine instead of a human person, my dudes. (See what I did there? Haha) Also noticed that she hides her chin in every picture she took of herself, so I'm glad you can see it in the picture you used. 😂 Calling Emily names, because clearly Shannon is insecure and only tore Emily down to make herself feel better. Gross.

Joon, the editing in this video is particularly fantastic. Did you do this or did you get an editor? Either way, kudos! It looks absolutely fantastic.

So people were STILL trying to support her after everything, and she threw that in their face and called them weird and disgusting. I feel like that's the biggest admission of guilt.
