Join me on my latest adventure in Portugal as I transition from sunny days to a rainy autumn at my new house sit. I explore the lush grounds, discovering bountiful kiwi fruits and grapes, showcasing the beauty of the changing season.
I take you back a couple of weeks to my off-grid camping on my friends farm ‪@CindyVine‬ in Central Portugal, where I pitch in with farm chores. While camping, I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow camper who's reclassifying a commercial van into a campervan. In this vlog, he shares invaluable insights into the legal process of this exciting project.
Come along :)

Love the rain. It is the dampness that kills me. You will have to plant a Kiwi tree on Cindy land. Those grapes look delicious.

Hi, Luise 👋🏼 This is a gorgeous housesit, lovely inside, beautiful and neat outdoors, and that wonderful convenience of going to car inside the garage to leave/return and vice versa without getting wet. They sure have a lot of acorns and grapes I thought you might make grape jelly! Hope you're able to make your acorn flour, just reject the ones with any holes or damage (larvae inside). Very informative feature of your camping neighbor's project while you were at Cindy's. For your viewers, it's great that you're all up in other people's business 😄, we learn new things! Still loving your bob. Your hair is as pretty and versatile as ever. Liked seeing you leisurely stroll in the rain in your full waterproofing. 👍🏼

Fantastic Kiwis, you can ripen fruit in a brown paper bag, the no sunlight from the brown paper will stop them from rotting and only ripen. Do the pigs eat the grape waste from the wine and juice process?

Hi Luise, there is a portuguese company selling all kinds of products made from oak acorns. One thing I learned is that, the oaks here in the north, produce very astringent acorns. So, you have to cook them twice, throw the water away and the third time they are good to eat. The acorns from cork oaks, you have to cook only once and the ones from the southern oaks ( called Azinheiras) you can cook directly . Very nice place where you are now, loved it

Another lovely video! Acorn flour is on my list of things to make. Did make grape juice though with some grapes. Super tasty. The amount of kiwis on that one tree is amazing! I’m thinking there’s Kiwi juice, kiwi tart, kiwi jam, kiwi bbq sauce in your future. Super useful information on the van conversion and tour, and will look at the other channel for information as that may be a possibility in the future. Thanks!

Are those wild grapes? They look like the wild grapes that grow here in northern California. Be watchful for the poisonous grape look-alikes that grow among edible grapes. You could make a quick, sweet/tart, fermented drink with the excess grape juice by adding some live (includes the active mother yeast) apple cider vinegar and honey or sugar and letting it sit on the counter for a day, then straining and storing the probiotic drink in the refrigerator. Very refreshing. By the way, I tuck grape leaves into the top of my jars of fermenting pickles, both to keep the cucumbers submerged and also to make them crispy, due to the tannin in the grape leaves.
@Solo50plus
@Solo50plus 10 ай бұрын
No they are not wild grapes. It's too tasty for there to be any excess!! 😂

Years ago, I tried processing acorns here in northern California, where there are many oak trees, and it was a dismal failure. It was a long process that ended with the discovery that most of the acorns were infested with bugs. I hope you fare better.

Expawers on youtube just finding out how hard it is to bring a conversion to regiester in spain 🙄
