His brother actually ended up getting arrested last year for threatening to shoot up the University of CT and Brown University. Definitely makes you think about how much their childhood led to these future violent tendencies for both brothers.

Aaron had diagnosed CTE which has been proven to lead to actions like this. Almost every athlete that has done this has had it and the NFL had been trying to keep it quiet up until like 2020 even though it's been known about for longer. 😢

I suffered a head injury back in 2015, and it honestly changed me as a person. I struggled to speak, my thinking was incredibly slow, and I was extremely paranoid. It took years to recover, and to this day, I still have my struggles, and it changed my personality in ways. That was from ONE head injury. Imagine having multiple all throughout your life. It begs the question of whether football is ethical as to what the players have to suffer through in the long term.

I've always wondered what had made Aaron throw everything away so thoughlesly and for nothing. I figured, since he was always being excused from everything, never facing consequences, had made him feel like he was untouchable, but that never seemed like enough in my head. Bailey, You should do a dark history on football and concussions. Because they talk about how many you're "allowed" to have in the NFL, and college. But no one talks about the fact that these guys play for years in highschool and usually in peewee leagues to. Most of them are walking into these situations with countless concussions that aren't on paper and then they start counting the "allowable" amount. So they are already behind the 8 ball.

@Bailey Sarian I think its worth noting the effects that concussions have especially on football players bc of the head trauma due to the game. Also, the effects of the abuse at home on top of the concussions.

Awesome, 3 of my interests combined: Make-up, true crime, and football! 🤩 Thank you for talking about CTE, Bailey. As a football fan, I was worried it might not get brought up. While it does not excuse his behavior, it's really --sadly-- a fascinating part of all this. There's so much we still don't know and may never know about the long-term effects it's having on players. I'm glad to see the use of cushioned covers to wear over the helmet, called guardian caps, becoming more common, but sadly a lot of players still don't want to wear them.

I think all the free passes he got along with unhealed trauma were more at play than head injuries. I wish we could hold celebrities and such accountable for their behavior instead of giving them so much slack. Those victims might still be alive and spared their families all that heartbreak.
