Thanks for taking your time to watch. Jakub is an example for a western educator who is doing a good job integrating in the Chinese system. He speaks Chinese very well and has a bright future in the local education industry!

I hope he won’t pollute the youngsters with Western vices.

Why would he? While both the western and eastern parts of the world have vices, schools are the place where students gain traits rather than bad habits. Have some faith man. Foreigners in China are here to contribute, not to pollute. Thanks for watching!

If you have a chance to interview Jakub or other expat teachers in a similar position, here are some questions you did not ask, and should consider: (1) Chinese students should be taught about being a patriotic Chinese citizen and also a global citizen. What are the key concepts taught to achieve that dual goal? (2) many job placement stat reports are saying college graduates with an oversea degree no longer get higher pay than those grads from China's universities. Are parents aware that the much higher cost of oversea college education may not pay off? What are factors that determine sending their kids oversea? (3) of the close to 30 expat teachers from many countries in this school, are they all teaching "English"? Are they teaching other foreign languages in this school? Do expats also teach regular subjects like math and science? Should Enlish classes be taught by someone who is a native English speaker only? (4) How big is the pay differential between local Chinese teachers in this school versus the expat teachers?

Great questions. I know some of the answers, but would be interesting to hear what someone like Jakub answers. Thanks, I’ll keep these questions in mind for my next interviews.
